I got my online shopping delivered today. I ordered colgate total plus whitening for me & Jed and Milkteeth toothpaste for Isaac. They substituted Isaac's toothpaste for 'adults' Aquafresh whitening. Now on the colgate box it says for children under 7 use a pea sized amount for supervised brushing but on the aquafresh it said not reccemonded for children under 7 years of age.

So my question is shall I save us money and use our colgate for Isaac aswell? Or do I pick up some childrens toothpaste next time i'm out?

My HV recommended i go onto 'normal' adult toothpaste when Angel turns 1. Something about the floride (sp) in it. She needs more from the toothpaste as our water has less. Not sure about the truth in that but she said it's ok as long as it's not fancy whitening etc stuff.

Thank for replying. I am thinking i'll just let him use the colgate. He lets me brush his teeth now and he is learning how to spit out the toothpaste so I'm sure he'll be fine :D

I have to get kiddie type as Arianna HATES anything minty! I get Sainsburys own kiddies fruity one... think it is only about a quid

I remember the adult ones were too strong for me as a kid (as in the mintiness would burn my mouth) so maybe it is just because they are milder versions for kids?

Seren cracks me up when she uses our toothpaste - she tells me "it burns my mouth mummy" whilst blowing out her mouth really hard

save your money Lou. When caitlyn was 6 months our health authority sent out a tube of toothpaste and a baby toothbrush. it was colgate they sent us. I think the only difference probably is the taste.

Usually its just the whitening ones that say dont use under 7!
I have bought the childs toothpaste a couple of times but generally the kids have always used our toothpaste! :D

Yeah its another expense we could do without if Isaac doesn't actually need his own toothpaste :D

Thanks Lea m :)
