I've just read somewhere else on the internet that from 37 weeks the MW will start giving you internal exams at your appointments to check the cervix?

Is this true? I think it may have been an American site I was reading, but it said they check if it's "ripening" and stuff.

Any of your 37+ week ladies had an internal examination during your weekly check ups?

I have never heard of any midwife doing this as a routine check in the UK, they only do cervical examinations when your overdue for a stretch and sweep or when your in Labour.

nope i never had that, only had it when i was overdue and he was about to give me a sweep and while i was in labour of course.

I didn't have an internal examination until I was actually in labour. I can't say I feel I missed out on those! lmao!

I had my cervix checked every week from 35 weeks either by ultrasound or internal but i had my pregnancy care in Hungary.

nope, just the usual wee test, bump measure and heartbeat check for me!

No i've never had one either even when i was over due.
