hey sorry if this is yet another bitchy post 4m me, but im really stuck!!! my boyfriend moved in with me offically on march 7th(he lived here anyway) but i phoned the Inland revenue and told them and they said they would have my claim sorted in 6 weeks, its now bn 13 and i havent had a payment off them since that phone call!!!!!! im reling on that money 2 but things 4 the baby, i still have 11 weeks 2 go, but wanted 2 b more organised than this as i already have a wee girl, also, i cant claim for my milk tokens or maternity grant becoause i dont know what my claim is yet, and there telling me nothing, i have phoned up every week since i reapplied, any1 bn in a similar fix? :?

It's silly the way they work this that it's based on your previous years earnings. I had a similar situation, although not as bad as you. My DH 'officially' moved in with me and my daughter 5th March 2005. Because this was in the tax year 2004/2005, they wanted to know HIS earnings for the year 2003/2004!!! We didn't even start dating until the 25th July 2004, months after the tax year finished!!! They then wanted me to pay back money that I had received for that year as I was a single parent then!!

Luckily, I finally got through to a lovely man, who I explained my situation to, and he spent a good 30 mins on the phone with me, and we got it all sorted. I'm not looking forward to when I go on maternity leave. I earn double what DH does, but obviously will be doesn to £108 per week for 6 months, then nothing if I need to stay off for any length of time after that. If they try and base our claim on whay I earnt last tax year, they'll have a fight on their hands!!!!

Good luck with your 'fight' Yvanne. Keep trying and you may get through to someone nice like I did.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!!!

yeah is so silly the way they do it, because i used 2 work full time and obv went 2 part time 2 watch my wee girl, so ill be getting less than i should of :? they dont work it out well at all!! ah well least i know the money will be backdated :D so can get some treats for the little ones!!

well i got the money yesterday (3rd july) so tht was nearly 3 month i w8d!! n it was still bloody wrong, i feel so sorry 4 the person who got me on the phone cos i was soooooooooooooooooo angry!!!! :wall: idiots!!

Shocking
Its only paperwork to them but its peoples lives they are dealing with.
I hope you get it sorted.

Laura.
