Induction date

I've been booked in for induction on the 22nd when I'm exactly 42 weeks.

Do you think I'd be able to negotiate a slightly earlier date? I'm going to ask my community midwife on monday. It's just that my mum is my birth partner and she might struggle to get the 22nd off work, it would be better if I could get induced on the 18th because if she can't be there then I don't have anyone else, I certainly don't want my husband there (for those who don't know, he's left me).

Do you think it's unreasonable to ask to bring the date forward?

I really hope that I do go into labour naturally before then but I need to be covered that my mum can be there.

I'd say it's definetly worth asking hun! And it also means you get to meet bubs sooner!!

I would ask hun! If you dont ask, you dont get!
Though hun what would happen if you go into labour on a day where your mum cant get off work?! I dont like the thought of you being on your own!
