Well not quite, but my parents are giving us £2,000 tomorrow as a gift for all the baby stuff we might need. Its rather alot I told them and i'm still only 12 weeks, but their feeling generous!

Anyway since I havent bought anything except a babygro so far, I'd really like your input as to what you reckon I should get first... a cot? pram? car seat? What would you go out and get??

I really don't have a clue. I'm going to burst on monday when I get the cash!! (bear in mind I'm in spain and theres a Toys-r-us up the road which i can check out, don't know if they sell baby accessories? Also, not sure about buying clothes yet cos we're having gender scan at 20 weeks anyway!

id put it in a saving account and earn tiny bit of interest first lol

i recon travel system prety inportant buy as it also included the car seat and poss a soft carry cot ( i actually think mine will be from toysrus ! )

a cot , bedding, moses basket or crib

feeding stuff ( bottles / sterilsiser blar blar)

nappies ? spec if u getting cloth as a big outlay at once

maternity stuff u wil need , bras , trousers breats pads / breast pump






clothes n stuff are cheap enough and you'll get as gifts , with 2k u wanna get some of tge big purchases out of the way !

It makes such a difference when you don't have to worry about where the money is coming from. My parents gave us £1000 and my hubby's mum gave us £500.

It is a lot of money and is very kind of them. We appreciate it so very much. xxx

Oh cool, on the practical side maybe put half away for babys savings and half towards baby stuff. I dont think you'll need as much as £2000 for baby things!! Unless you want a designer pram and gold cot, hehe!

Generous parents!!!! You gotta love em! Luckily this time we dont have to buy a single thing as we have it all from Isla.

Dunno if this is any good for you over in Spain, but Argos do a whole room set for £300: 'cot bed with mattress, 4 plus 2 drawer chest with removable baby changer unit and low wardrobe'

Got my eye on that for us!

Thanks for all the advice girls There is an argos store here but I think they add 10% to everything.
