Saw the doc and she advised me not to take any anti malaria things as we are only there for 3 days and malarone shouldn't be taken when ttc. So I'll be covered up and soaked in insect repellent. it's a low risjka rea so I'll hopefully be okay.

Fingers crossed I don't get bitten or I'll be sh*tting myself

eek lol enjoy yourself, bring us back something nice :D

How come I only get to go to Wales for a long weekend...

Have a great time :D

Thanks girls! It's just the ticket when you are ttc and get your AF. I wish I could do it every month!!

malerone ruined my honeymoon  so u wanna glad u cant take it ! we spent over 100 each on them and onyl took them 3 days ! was so violently ill !

where bouts u going ?
hope the weather is better in june then in it in april lmao

Sorry to hear that Gem!!

My husband and I are trustees of a small charity that looks after a primary school in Navasha. Our main role is to look after the sponsorship scheme that allows scholars to go to secondary school which is not free in kenya. It's a nightmare this year - we only have 8 sponsors so far and there are 69 students due to graduate in Jan 08. But things do tend to pick up towards the end of the year. Anyway this trip is to open 3 new classrooms that the charity was able to fund so should be lots of smiley faces and hundreds of minature hand shakes from the adorable nursery kids (who are so cute they are almost edible).

Anyway it's not my full time job so it's pretty hard work. But great when we get to go.

oh no I feel gulity about moaning about only going to Wales. :(

That's really good - how much is sponsorship? And is there a webpage?

Good for you girl hope you have a fab time and get more sponsership during the next few months.

Thanks!! Here's the website - it needs updating because due to kenya prices we have had to raise the sponsorship to £440 a year (£37 a month if people want to pay monthly). If you know anyone who might be interested I'd be enormously greatful, as we are only a small charity. We are registered and the 7 trustees do all the admin etc so every penny goes to the cause. Anyway, sorry to plug on here. Hope you don't mind mods.

Thanks hun - will pass around to as many people as possible :D

Does the sponsorship have to be paid in a lump sum or can it be paid monthly?

Either in a lump sum or monthly. And thanks sooo much I really appreciate your help!!

we went to kenya mombassa for our honeymoon. what amazing people..i wish we could afford to help out.. but with bump no 2 on the way and the weddign still to pay off unfortunatly we cant.. have a great time though x

Ok - let me see what I can do - we have a big family and although we don't have a lot of money - I've asked them all if they would be interested in joining together to do it. :D

You absolute diamond! Actually that works really well a few families have done that and it's great because the Scholar get's to correspond with a few people and really practice their English while also feeling very special indeed. This is a huge life changing opportunity. The whole reason I got involved was because I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw some of the highly intelligent school leavers going to work in the fields as scare crows because they couldn't afford an education!!

If you decide to go a head pm me your my email address. I have loads more info I can send you to explain the process. Don't worry I have no expectations, just really grateful you are looking into it
