i'm a first-time-mummy-to-be, but it was unplanned and i never had any interest in babies before so i'm clueless! what do i need?
please put your ideas of essential items, and dont leave off things that you think are obvious, because i really am a bit clueless! i dont even know what a babygrow is! but i'm told i'll need lots of those! is it the same as an all-in-one bodysuit?

thanks

have you got a mothercare catulogue or boots one they have a list in the back of the book.

yes an all in one body suit is the same as a babygrow.

I never realised till i started shopping that there was a newborn size and then 0-3 months i just assumed you started at 0-3 months.

have you bought anything yet?

Got this from Emma's Diary:

Baby shopping checklist

Things you definitely need

* Cot (plus mattress, sheets and blankets)
* Car seat
* Pram / buggy / travel system (*one of these)
* Six sleepsuits/long sleeved suits
* Six vests/ short sleeved suits
* Two cardigans/ jackets
* Shawl or snow suit
* Hat, mittens and bootees
* Changing mat
* Nappies
* Bottles/teats/bottle brush (only needed if not breastfeeding )
* Nursing bra and breast pads
* Loads of bibs
* Loads of towels/ flannels/ muslin squares (for bathing and dribbles!)
* Loads of kitchen roll and cotton wool pads
* Brush and comb

Things that are handy, but not essential

* Moses basket / crib (plus mattress, sheets and blankets)
* Baby bath
* Baby box or bag
* Sling
* Bouncy chair
* Baby monitor
* Changing bag
* Steam steriliser
* Breast pump
* Baby lotion
* Baby wipes
* Bath thermometer
* Nail scissors
* Nappy wrapper

Money- saving tips

* Write a baby list – friends and family will always want to buy things for your new baby and this way you can make sure you get exactly what you need with no duplications!
* Most of the big supermarkets run special mother and baby clubs – make sure you sign up early on to get the benefit of all their special offers and money off coupons.
* Buy second-hand – look in charity shops, classified ads, jumble sales and NCT sales for baby bargains. The only exceptions to this are a mattress and car seat – always buy these new.

Hope that helps :hug:

to add to Em's list I also have a room thermometer...I have a grobag one but there are cheaper ones available

I cant think of anything else you need
but i counted the other day and i have 27 bibs :shock:
