I have NO idea how far along I am..

I cant remember the last time I had a period, since having Josh 18months ago and being on the pill they have been messed up ever since..what will the doctor tell me and how will they find out how far gone I am? Last pregnancy I werent sure how many weeks i was they just estimated and gave me a 12 week scan, but I see so many messages from you mummys that you have had scans at 6 weeks etc? Im confused lol x

I would just contact your doctors, i have very irregular periods and with this pregnancy the doctors examined my belly and said that i was under 12 weeks because he couldnt find anything solid enough to suggest otherwise. I bled for a day so i was sent for a scan anyway so i knew my dates from then on, i was 7 weeks at my first scan. I would just go to the doctors hunny they will help u

some dr's will have a feel of your belly as if your farther then 12 weeks they can sometimes feel it, but they might just send you for a dating scan to see exactly how far gone you are
just explain to the dr that you really dont no and they will be helpfull

hey! I'm just gatecrashing from 3rd tri. I had the exact same prob, I couldn't remember the last time I'd had a period so I didn't have a clue how far along I was. I spoke to the MW who asked me how long I'd been having symptoms etc, from that she guessed I was about 8 weeks which was right. She also referred me to the hospital for my scan & asked them to scan me asap as I didn't have any clue about dates. The appt came through for when I should have been 9 weeks. Didnt need it tho as I had a scan at 8w+4 as I had an infection & they had to rule out an ectopic preg.

I would ask to be referred to a MW, they will be able to help. xx

Had a similar problem when I was pregnant with my son. Had had my coil removed Sept 14th and had no period at all. Got my BFP 31st October. They took my last AF as the day my coil was removed. When I had my scan at what would have been around 12 weeks 5 days by my reckoning, they put me back to 10wks 2 days.

Saying that, my son was born on his scan given due date of 07/07/07 but he was 9lb 4oz, nearly twice the size of my first born and had none of the creamy stuff covering him. I think babies generally pop out when they are ready

Incidently, same situation this time, except I had a period 2 days after the coil was removed, and the scan on Tuesday was spot on with our dates
