The boys are now 6 weeks old & A apparently has a hydrocele, has anyone else experienced this? Will it go away over time ?

I never heard of it, but when I looked it up The Mayo Clinic says it usually goes away on it's own within the first year of life.

A hydrocele (HI-droe-seel) is a fluid-filled sac surrounding a testicle that causes swelling in the scrotum. Hydrocele is common in newborns and usually disappears without treatment during the first year of life. Older boys and adult men can develop a hydrocele due to inflammation or injury within the scrotum.

A hydrocele usually isn't painful or harmful and might not need any treatment. However, if you have scrotal swelling, see your doctor to rule out other causes.

Dylan had this (as did Hubby apparently).
At Dylan's 6 week check the GP said it will usually go on it's own and they'll review at his 1yr check.

I was told it's nothing really to worry about xx

A hydrocele is when water front eh abdo area filters into the scrotal area via little tubules on each side of the groin . In boys whilst in utero the testes are high up on the abdo wall and come Dow through the tables prior to birth . Sometimes the tubules don't seal up correctly and this cause a hydrocele. The water will move back and forth in varying amounts and will usually correct itself . I know this as my son has one - diagnosed at 7 weeks, unfortunately my son also had an inguinal hernia on the other side of his groin and had to have surgery to repair the bowel that had gone through the tubule and become trapped .... I've never seen a baby in such pain as he was in and his testicles where huge and filled with bowels ..... he was in alder hey for a week post emergency surgery and has a 1inch scar
