Excellent timing but the OH has just been layed off from his builders job :| I stay at home and care for Lovella & am due to give birth to our 2nd baby in TWO WEEKS, so i dont work..

OH will look for another job as best he can & hopefully can get back in work soon but i fear the credit crunch is going to make it harder.

Can anyone tell me what we are entitled to claim in the meantime, if anything?

Call the council for housing and council tax benefit. And get him straight to the jobcentre and deal with them too. Jobcentre should tell you what to claim. Unfortunately my OH got laid off 2 weeks before Xmas and me 2 weeks ago, just before i was gonna go back to work! :wall:

Sorry this has happened to you.

INfo on Income Support

If you phone them they can do the basic bits of the housing benefit claim over the phone too.

Don't forget to tell Tax Credits too so they can adjust your payments too xx

OH was laid off when DD was 6 weeks old. He has done bits of part time work but not worked full time in the last 8 months. To be honest, it has been lovely having him around all the time! We have tightened out belts a bit and it is working out OK now that I am back to work.
We don't get anything because OH is working part time.
