just heard about this on the news
a girl held hostage from age 8 has escaped aged 18!

OMG thats terrible, i read a book once about something like that but the one i read was a man and a woman and they kept this woman hostage in a coffin like box for years, but there was sexual abuse invovled wtih that.

there really are some sicko's out there!

I've just been reading about it! I can't digest what this wee girl must have felt like for 8 years! I am so glad that she has been re-united with her family. I will be the start of another long journey - coming to terms with the trauma.

God, we really need to be grateful for EVERY day we get to spend with our children!

i heard about this today imagine wot she has gone thro and after being held captive for that long wot she is going thro now shes free

But they seem to think she has that Stockholm Syndrome where she actually feels compassion towards her captor, which i just find bizarre. You hear it all the time though, think last one i heard was a muslim woman got kidnapped and ended up marrying one of her captors?!
