How many weeks pregnant am I?

Good morning Ladies,
I have been wracking my brain lately trying to figure how many weeks pregnant I am and wondered if you could help?
My LMP was on the 18th February which puts me at 7 weeks and 6 days which is what the midwife agreed to when I initially went to see her and that’s what I have been going off.
On Tuesday I started bleeding a bit so I went for a scan on Wednesday to check everything was okay with baby and thankfully it’s all fine and I saw baby and it’s little heart beating away. The midwife at the scan told me that babys gestational size is 6 weeks and 4 days (I believed I was 7 weeks and 3 days at the time) and I’m wondering if this means that 6 weeks and 4 days is how far along I am and to disregard the 7+ weeks or whether the 6 weeks and 4 days is since conception and I’m actually 8 weeks and 4 days...

I’m getting myself all confused! Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have any idea when you ovulated. As for me if I go by my lmp that puts me nearly a week ahead too.

I'd imagine you probably ov about two weeks after your period?

Don't worry too much as long as heartbeat is there and measurements are good x

I don’t have a clue when I ovulated, It was our little surprise and we weren’t trying for a baby at all haha! I’ll just wait to see what they say at my 12 week scan next month and then they’ll tell us what’s what

I expect they will just keep you what the original midwife said until you have your 12 week scan x

Same as me hun i caught on the mini pill so who knows! I just went by my scan dates. Had one at what I thought was 7 weeks and I was 6:1 I think... Then went two weeks later and was exactly two weeks up on growth so all is good

I wouldn't worry too much at this stage but hopefully this helps.

They initially date you based on your LMP because most women don't know exactly when they ovulate. This is based on a 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14 which of course is not the case for lots of women. If you ovulated later than day 14 then you would measure further behind but if you ovulated earlier then you would measure further ahead.

We had an early scan at 7+6 based on LMP but I measured 8+3. I always had slightly shorted cycless and rarely if ever ovulated on day 14 so it was expected. Go by the scan I would say. Hope that helps.

I should be 6+5 but I measured at 5 weeks after an early scan!
My cycles are pretty screwy, so I'm all over the place!
12 week scan will give a better date estimation!

This happened to me with our son! Went for early scan due to bleed.. They put me 1 week behind what I thought I was... But still had 12 week scan at original date. 12 week scan showed I was actually a week ahead of what I thought. They said on early scans it's sometimes harder to accurately calculate the gestation as the baby is so so tiny

Hi, When I had my first scans they put me 5 days behind my LMP once at 5+5 and another at 7+5, But when I went for my dating scan they actually put me 6 days ahed
I really wouldn't worry about dates this early on. They can jump forward and back so dramatically! The sonographer said that its almost impossible to date under 10 weeks! Becuase the Baby is so small and they're kind of guessing where to measure from

I went for an early scan due to bleeding and was measure 5+5/6 weeks ish she said, we also saw saw a heartbeat. They also said they can’t date accurately so early on. I went back exactly 3 weeks later and measured 9+5.
The calculations on lmp are based on a 28 day cycle with you ovulating on day 14 so it’s just an estimate. They will however continue to use this date until you have your dating scan around 12 weeks.
I wouldn’t worry about it, the main thing is you got to see a lovely heartbeat!
