Hi everyone

Just getting over a MMC which happened when I was 10.5 weeks on 4/11/10, had a D&C on 8/11/10 so still feeling pretty raw. Feeling a bit in limbo really so thought perhaps I would settle in here until I feel ready to start TTC again. Just wondered if any of you have ever been in the same boat and how long did you wait after MC before TTC?

Hi Bella,
Im really sorry about your loss, i know exactly how you are feeling right now.
I was told to wait three months by the first doctor and the second doctor told me to wait one af, so my body will be ready to carry another baby. But i have read stories where people have started to try after the bleeding has stopped, so i personally think it when you feel physically and emotionally ready.
Im settling down in WTT till the new year, hopefully by then i would of had one af and i feel emotionally ready.

Im here if you need to talk hunny x x

Hi Hon

Well although friends and family have been terrific there's nothing like to speaking to someone who has actually been through the same thing. This forum is a god-send! The doctor at the hospital said to wait one cycle for dating purposes but then I've been reading stories that say you should wait a little longer to ensure your womb has thickened enough to support the baby? Sometimes I make myself worse by reading too much lol! I think we too might wait until the new year before TTC, that way at least that gives time for periods to return and I can have a drink at Xmas ;)
Hoping that my cycle goes back to it's usual regular state, I was quite lucky before in that I have a short cycle (23 days) so a bit less time to wait in between periods. Also fell pregnant in the first month of trying last time but not sure if I'll be as lucky next time round. Meanwhile like you just feel I need to chill for a bit and give myself a break from the worrying which I was doing all throughout my pregnancy. Having a little shopping trip tomorrow with a friend so that'll be a breakthrough x x x

I think the more you read, the more you worry. I think we will both now when the times right to move on to TTC but in the mean time we need to concentrate on getting ourselfs right. Did the doctor tell you to carry on taking folic acid?
I fell pregnant straight away with my denis the menace and the same this time so im not holding my breath that it will happen straight away a third time, but i have my fingers and toes crossed for both of us, once we are ready.
My OH and me are going for the new year, new start theory, so im already on countdown! Its only 43 days till the 31st December.
A shopping trip sounds like a great idea hunny, make sure you treat yourself, you deserve it :) x x

Aww thanks hon no my doctor didn't tell me to carry on with the folic acid but I still have several tablets left so might start taking again to 'prep' my body. God 43 days is not long at all! That's great you fell so quickly with your other 2, fingers crossed it happens like that next time. I wish you all the best too and hope to see you in TTC in the new year! x x

The doctor said to me whether we are going to start trying a month or 6 months down the line to carry on taking folic acid so it builds up, i started taking them again as soon as i left the hospital on Sunday, which maybe was a bit soon but anything that will help a healthy pregnancy next time, im there! She also said to carry on eating the right things but ive already had a cheeky glass of wine and a mcdonalds since Sunday! Take care hunny and remember if you ever need a chat im here x x

Hope your feeling a bit better, I had a mc in June, D+C on the 29th June and had my positive pregnancy test on 6th august. I was told you can try again as soon as you stop bleeding, I only bled for one day (the day of the d+c) but had a period 13 days after that (Doc said it was period as it acted like one) two weeks later I was pregnant again

Hey ladies!
sorry for your losses! i'm in the same boat as both of you, had mmc and d&c on 5/11/10. My doc told me whenever i was ready and so did the midwives, i think is an individual choice, if you asked me 2 weeks ago i would have said i wont be ready to tryagain for a few months but once i talked it over with oh and we had a cry i felt much better emotionaly, so i am ready and trying again before next af, as for physically i only bled for 1 day and felt fine within a week but as i say its totally different for everyone.

Hope you are both ok, sending you lots of hugs and if you ever need to chat i'm here :)

Hi Bella,

How did your shopping trip go? Hope you treated yourself to lots of lovely things :) xxx

Rosa - that's great news you fell again so quickly, hope all is going well for you this time round :)

Nurse26 - sounds like you, me & mummy to adam all suffered our MCs around the same time, we can all be support for each other:hugs: Great that you're starting to feel stronger emotionally good luck TTC and keep in touch with how it goes!

Mummy to Adam - Had a lovely time shopping with my friend, got a couple of Xmas presents and also treated myself to some new boots and a couple of new tops. Was great to finally be smiling again. Actually had sex with OH last night for the first time in about 2 months - (we only had sex once when I was pregnant due to me being so paranoid!) We used a condom though as I said I didn't feel ready yet emotionally to TTC. He was fine and said that we would wait until whenever I feel ready. Had a little cry after, I think because it was like another "milestone" in the emotional process, but do feel closer to him as a result. How are you doing? x x

Glad your smiling hun and you had a lovely time shopping. Glad you have reached another milestone, im actually looking forward to reaching that, but still bleeding at the mo (tmi) :(
Glad your OH is being understanding and you are feeling closer.

I managed to iron all my maternity clothes and pack all the things that we had bought for the baby on Thursday, im quite pleased with myself that i managed that :)

Its strange that i woke up today and felt normal again, if you know what I mean x x

Well hopefully your bleeding will stop soon, I've been getting just a small amount of brownish stuff for the last couple of days (tmi) lol! A friends mum who had a MC then a D&C years ago told me that she didn't feel 100% "healed" until she got her first proper period.

Well done you for packing away your maternity clothes & baby stuff, that must have been tough but it's another part of the moving on process you've managed to achieve. :) Lovely to hear you're feeling more normal. I put on a pair of jeans this morning and realised they still had an elastic band on them from where I couldn't do them up when PG. Chucked the elastic band away and got the top button done up (albeit with a little overhang lol) that was another milestone for me as I hated still having a belly when there was nothing in there if you know what I mean, as it was another reminder.

Have good weekend and keep in touch x x

My belly disappeared practically straight away, but i was huge (Looking about 6 months pregnant was one of the reasons i thought something was wrong!) I am just abit podgy now!

Ive just put my scan pic away,so another milestone complete, as I couldnt even look at it a few days ago.

Hope you have a good weekend too hunny xx

|I had a mmc last oct with a D&C. The Drs and nurses all gave me different timeframes, but after the length of time it took to concieve then I was not going to stop myself from getting pregnant, so I guess had the attitude of what will happen will happen for a few months. However I got my :bfp: in December, and although throughout I was emotionally all over the place having Toby has helped me get through a few other significant dates...
