Glad to hear you've got your appointment. For me it has been a nightmare - I have mine for next Wednesday when I will be 14+2. I first went to my doctor at 7 weeks but because I had moved she could not refer me to a midwife in the area where I now live. Even though I knew I wanted to be under the hospital nearest my old address, the hospital whcih is closest to my new address has not got a great reputation. So anyway I had to register at my new local surgery and see a nurse for a check-up before I could make an appoitment with a midwife. I told the nurse I was 9 weeks pregnant at that time so she sent me to the hospital to have my bloods done and made me an appointment with the midwife for when I was 10 weeks. Then a few days before that appointment the surgery rang up to say the midwife was off sick but said I could have my booking in appointment with a doctor. So I went to this appointment expecting it to be like my first midwife appintment but all that happened was she took my blood pressure, told me my blood results were normal and said she would get me booked into the hospital I wanted. That was about 10 December. On Xmas eve I still hadn't heard anything from the hospital and with all the Xmas bank holidays I couldn't contact the hospital antenatal dept until 29 December and they didn't even have me on there system yet. But she searched through a pile of paper work to find me while j was on the phone as I was already 12 weeks and still had no appointment. She rang me back that day with my first antenatal appointment which is 22 January!! I will be nearly 16 weeks by then and that will be first time I will actaully see a midwife. The ultrasound department contacted me seperately with a date for my scan whcih is next Wednesday. I was so worried for a while that I wouldn't get my scan for ages but I suppose at 14 weeks there might be more to see than if it was at 12 weeks.
