How do I stop spillage with soft cup insemination?

Hi all,
I start TTC in two weeks time, via at-home donor insemination. I'd heard so many good things about soft cups so have decided to use that method. I have practiced putting them in with no problems at all, but when I practice with water/egg white like some of the members here have suggested, the bottom of the cup presses up and it spills out when I try to insert the soft cup. I have tried inserting over the toilet, squatting and lying down. Have any of you had this issue? What did you do to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

I use it straight after sex bear in mind you are putting it in empty, so practice putting it in empty. I put it in and take it out when sat on the loo. I use the second mooncup method of folding and that works best for me but all I can suggest is keep practicing it gets easier

Thank you for that, Broody2013. I have a question that will probably be really stupid, but how do you know that the cup isn't blocking the semen from the cervix if it's put in after it? How do you make sure the semen is on the "right side" of the cup for the cervix to reach?
