Or maybe something a bit more professional "I have been personally encouraged (also if anyone has said they are impressed by your work add that in to!) by my continuing and improving work skills and i feel that at the current time my current pay does not reflect my ability." Bla bla bla bla bla .......

see the thing is, i am a receptionist BUT i do secretary work all day everday but on Mon and Tue's i do full days secretary (no reception at all) and i feel like i should be on more money, the secretaries here are on £16,500 yet they have only given me £11,100 - do you think i am right to ask for a rise???

Whats the worst that can happen? They say no!

Is always worth a try isn't it. I have done some sums and i reckon your secretarys get about £8.50 an hour and you get about £5.71 as a recoptinist (working on that you work about 38 hours a week) If you add this up and do all the sums i think it works out you should probably be getting about £14k. (If you wnat the exact figures i worked out just aske me to PM tham to you)

Say that because of your acting up duties you feel that your pay should reflect this for these days. I think this is reasonable and like i said the worst they can say is no.

Well like i said after working it out i reckoned you should eb on about £14k so i think asking for £12,000 - £12,500 is more than fair - you never know they might even offer you more?
