With my first i had my bag packed at 30weeks
so i could add to it/take things out i didnt need over the last 10weeks..
i recommend taking a dummy even if you dont want ur baby to have one... some babies are born 'sucky' like jaycee and she killed my nips!! bled and everything
Take cotton wool as wipes can be too strong for newborn bums and faces.. and sometimes they wont supply you with them..
Lets see if i can remember.. its been a while lol
for baby:
Blanket
Jacket to go home in
3/4 babygros (never know how long your in for)
3/4 vests
scratch mitts (they can have v sharp nails) and baby clippers
2 hats
4/5 nappies
cotton wool
dummies
bibs/muslin squares
for mum:
breast pads
maternity pads
spare undies (incase of overspills (tmi)!)
nightie.. easier than pjs
slippers
dressing gown
clothes to go home in
bottle of drink
biscuits for nibbles
any music etc
money for anything needed..
shampoo&cond/body wash
razor.. (i needed mine after being so big i couldnt reach the parts i needed to shave lol, it makes you feel 'cleaner' to shave)
toothbrush and paste
deoderant
flannel.. handy for cooling in labour..
Hmmmm... cant think of anything else... which is why i always need to repack all the time haha!!
I always had the bag in my boot so i was prepared no matter where i was, really kept me at peace
i packed a labour bag and a 'day after labour' bag in the end with my clothes and babys going home clothes, extra nappies etc..and let my birth partner bring the second bag for me... so i didnt have a suitcase when in labour lol
