Im planning to give birth at home and been thinking about hiring a pool but then it occured to me we have a really deep big bath, do you think this is an option? Can you get liners to put in it as we have a spa bath if it is an option?

You can give birth in the bath, lots of people do! I don't think you'll need liners for a bath (I've never heard of them at any rate), it should be fine so long as it's not terribly dirty!

I wasn't comfortable in the bath because it restricted my movement too much but then I don't think I would have liked a birth pool either.

Not sure it's be great for being able to change positions during labour but I know people do give birth in them. I bought a la bassine birth pool for £130 including postage and it was fantastic, it came with everything including electric pump, hose, tap connector, lid, liner, sieve and most importantly a pump to drain it away. The midwives were really impressed with it

thanks, that's a good price, a lot of them are that to hire!
