Hello,

Back in February I had a TSH of 4.2 so had to start levothyroxine before I could do my IVF cycle. After 3 weeks of 25mcg it went down to 2.4.

Unfortunately I was quite unwell and had to have a 'freeze all' due to OHSS risk in April

I saw my dr today and was given the go ahead for FeT this month......but they checked my TSH again and it has gone up to 4.48

I'm devastated. They said I can either up my dose to 75mcg and see if it's low enough in a week or postpone this month and try next month. I am so so upset. We've waited so long (3.5 years of trying now) and I didn't expect this to happen.
Part of me want s to try for this month but the last thing I want to do is start progesterone then have cycle cancelled due to TSH and have mucked up my cycle for next month? Is it better to get TSH right down over a few weeks rather than rush?

I really thought this was my month

Are you doing a medicated FET then? If so I would wait and get your level right, only because if it's not right and u have started on the drugs you might have to wait even longer in the long run... This is easy for me to say and I know how desperate you are to get on with it but now I wish I had waited for our 1st embryo to be implanted after IVF because I was so painful after egg collection and I always wonder if that was our best quality embryo maybe it would have done ok if I had waited and then done an FET later, I bled a week before my OTD and I just don't think my body was ready! We have just done a natural FET and it failed, probably because our embryo was not the best quality but who knows!!

Hope your levels come down either way! It's such a tough journey Hun! So hard to make good decisions when you are so desperate for something! Xxx

I was meant to have a medicated cycle with progynova and then cyclogest as I have pcos but last week I changed my. Ind and decided we would try natural fet as I don't respond well to drugs (was very ill on stimms and in the past with the pill)

The Dr seemed happy today with my lining and lead follicle but the TSH level has ruined everything. I cried for hours after she called me as I was so desperate for this month. Now I'm panicking that what if next month TSH is ok but I don't ovulate (this month looked so promising)

I'm just so thoroughly fed up by the whole thing. I know I need to get TSH to right level though and can't really rush that

Oh Hun it's so difficult! I see what you mean re the ovulation but I guess either way you will worry! I would recommend natural FET it's less stressful - although I did worry about not ovulating too! This is just such a rollercoaster journey

I am sorry I can't be anymore help Hun xx

It is a help just to 'talk' to someone, I was just so ready for this month. I was even excited to start the opk testing and I felt so positive this morning then I got the call and it just feels like things are slipping further away from me

I'm going to try and stay occupied with doing things like reflexology, acupuncture, walking etc etc. I'm trying to tell myself just one more month but then of course as I have pcos I don't ovulate every month so worried about that. I can't believe how stressful this all is. I feel drained by it. I need to get the strength back to be positive

Thank you for your help. It's good to know somebody understands

I dunno about whats required but i know in pregnancy they up your dose by 25 to 50mcg and like your tsh to be below 2.0

I had hypermesis til 18 weeks so keeping pills in didnt always happen and mine went up to the 3s and 4s
I think its just so your body isnt working so hard

If i feel rough i just adjust meds myself and if i feel better in 2 weeks i go to my gp and say i need it upped cos it's working for me x

Adjusting your meds is easy
Just up your dose a fair bit to get your levels better x

I have had a treated under active thyroid since my early 20's when it was first diagnosed. My Endocrinologist wants to keep my TSH between 1.0 and 2.0, it is really important that your thyroid medications are stable before TTC. Thyroxine is important for both you and babies development. I know it's really disappointing to have to cancel your cycle but high TSH can cause issues.
Did the clinic test you for Thyroid Antibodies as they should do, they should also check your B12.
Also soya based products can effect your thyroid so it is advised not to eat them.
Also any mulitvitamins that contain Vit D , calcium , magnesium should be taken at least 6 hours after you take your eltroxin.

Really Clementine?
I take vit D with my levothyroxine
Are we not meant to?
I knew calcium and iron are no nos but not vitamin d x
