Hi everyone, my little man has been in a foul mood for the past few days. By the sounds of things he has all the symptoms of teething but really not sure. Since he was tiny he's always chewed his hand as he prefers that than a dummy, he also does this when he wants a feed.

However, now he really tries to chew his dummy (not suck) or even my finger. I can't see anything trying to come through his gums but he has been crying quite alot.

Might be nothing at all wrong but wondered if anyone had any advise for me. :D

does he dribble alot or have rosey cheeks? these are the general symptoms of teething and also the place where the tooth comes through gets swollen xx

It does sound like teething and I have to say its hrad when they are young as they can't hold a teething ring. I am using anbesol teething gel now but the best thing I found is putting frozen pear in a baby safe feeder but I didn't do this until Leorah was 3½ months. When its really bad I give her some calpol. You could also try Ashton and Parsons teething powders, I can't tell if they work for leorah but some people swear by them.

I hope he starts feeling better soon

I was going to suggest Ashton and Parson as well but I have a feeling they are 3months +? I think calpol is 2months+ so should be OK.

tias been teething since she was 9 weeks and has the same symptoms, the only thing she was allowed cos she was sooo young was dentinox teething gel cos all the others are 3 month plus xxx

try giving him a really cold wet flannel to chew on.

Also I would recomend the ashton and parson powders when he is old enough.

Thanks everyone, another awful day today :( He's ok at the mo though :D He is dribbling alot but to be honest, he always has. As for the rosey cheeks, he's got a rash on his face (milk rash) so they are rosey but it could be partly because of the rash. God i'm not very good am i

I'll just have to keep an eye on his gums. I hope his teeth come through quickly if it is teething

Logan is exactly the same!

The powders are ok to use and to be honest they have been our lifesaver.. however tonight has been bad so he has had some calpol and is now asleep... he nearly chewed hubby's finger off earlier! Bless...........I didn't think they teethed for ages yet!

I've heard they can teeth from all ages really. Last night he was waking evey 3 hours for a feed which i know can be pretty normal but he had been sleeping for a lot longer than 3 hours for about 2 weeks now. I'm just wondering if maybe it's just a growth spurt. Getting him weighed today so i can ask the HV just wondering what you guys thought.
