Alfie has his first tooth on the brim of cutting and he is in agony and i have tried everything i have tried the gels the powders the liquid calpol calprofen nurofen for kids, cuddles taking him out in the pram and he is in bits the pain on his face is breaking my heart PLEASE is there anything at all i can do for him the crying doesnt bother me its not that i just cant let my baby carry on hurting there has to be something i can do to make it stop for him im his mummy im supposed to make everything ok and i cant make him better he is such a happy boy and its not fair on him, hes still sleeping through (for no) and I just want him to be happy again

have you tried cold teething rings? or the teething dummies...hun you are comforting him and doing everything you can so dont feel bad! teeth happen and there is nothing else you can do hun the worst part is the breaking through so hopefully it will help when it pops out .. xx

Aww poor little guy.

I used to let Brody chomp on my finger for ages, it used to be the only thing that would work when he was cutting through.

thanks Cas and Urchin iv tried al them things and it works for a split second and then he just howls, I know its not for long but hes in obvious pain and you know us mummies we are suckers for our little boys I just wish I could go through it for him,

Awww it can be so hard when they are hurting can't it :(

I'd just give him calpol and bonjela and keep trying everything again, maybe he'll settle with one of them.

Good luck.

Sounds like we're all going through the same thing, poor Alfie guess you just have to ride it out, part of the growing pains! I'm sure Otis is having teething pains as well, fortunately he seems a bit better today, he hasn't cried that is! Not sure how far the tooth is in terms of cutting through the gum as I find it difficult to identify what is I'm looking for/at.
Hope Alfie's tooth comes through soon and that he'll be back to his normal self soon

Hope it comes through soon & stops hurting him. It is so horrid seeing them in pain, the poor little mites :(

Doh! So much for Otis having a good day, he just woke up in tears and had to pump him full of calpol and bonjela! Poor like man, hope Alfie is feeling a wee bit better.

Thanks everyone, Daggers hes ok at the minute hes asleep and bless his heart itis the only peace hes geting from them poor Otis what are our lads like ay? I hope Otis is a bit happier soon.

Awww bless your little man, know what you mean about feeling like as a mam you should be able to make it all better.
You've probably already tried these but I've found Nelsons Teething Granules from Boots really good combined with Medised, the medised seems to work better for pain while the calpol always seems to work better for bringing temperature down. The other thing you can do if desperate is use calpol and baby nurofen in conjunction with each other i.e give every 2-4 hours as they say prevention is better than cure.
Hope the little chap starts feeling better soon, its so miserable for them. I remember my wisdom teeth coming through and that was blooming agony so can always sympathise.

thanks hun i havent actually tried medised is that good? if so ill get some tomorrow i just worry as they say it makes babies drowsy

I used it on my daughter and I've used it on my little man and its FAB as far as I'm concerned. Yep it does make them drowsey but to be honest when they are really having a rough time I feel sleep is the best medicine and they wake up ready for anything. As I said you can also use Calpol with nurofen also meant to mention Ashton Parsons Powders they are BLOODY MARVELLOUS :D

ill try medised cheers hun, those ashton powders havent really worked him xxx

well im using the medised and it seems to be doing the trick hes so happy, but nowim worried im overdosing him, im not giving anymore than it says on the bottle it vsays 3/4 times a day and im giving him it twice but hes not actually in pain anymore but i dont know if its because its the medised working and as miracle babe said preventing it which is good or if they arent affecting him anymore, now if they arent surely i shouldnt be giving it him but if i stop and hes in pain again then ill feel bad lknowing i could of done something ... what do you thnik sorry to confuse but its doing my head in all these questions why cant it just be simple ay lol,
