Hi all,
On the 28th of December, the condom split, and so inturn the next day I brought and took the morning after pill, around the 12 hour after mark. However as I was so enthusiastic to take it, I didn't read it properly and so I took it with a fizzy Lucozade drink, of which made it dissolve on my tongue, so when I did swallow it, it was liquid. My first worry is, did this make it any less effective as it does state on the leaflet that I should take it with nothing, and if that's not possible with a little water? Also within an hour of taking it I started to feel much nausea and feelings like I was going to be sick.
7 days after taking the tablet, I started to lose a brown/light pink, thick discharge, mostly brown, on-off for a week. Whilst this was happening I also started to experience abdominal pain, mainly on one side, cramping and feelings as if I was going to get my period, but didn't, just this blood loss. I have also got severe pain tenderness in my nipples mainly, and a feeling as if my boobs have grown of which is still painful today, along with frequent urination.
2 days after all of this, I have started what I now think is my period at the normal time, except it is brown once again, and not the normal red that I usually experience.
I also should add that the night that the condom split, I was in my ovulation time, would this have made any difference to the effectiveness of the tablet?
I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative, but i'm worried and confused as to if I might be pregnant, and would appreciate your advice.

The spotting (brown discharge) is due to the hormones in the morning after pill hun  . I wouldn't worry too much - your period is probably on its way

The lucozade wouldn't have made any difference to the effect of the pill.

I agree with Meggie, dont think it dissolving on tongue will have made any difference and the spotting could just be the effects of the false hormones.

I will say tho, my bestfriend has only taken the morning after pill twice, both times within 24hours and both times it didn't work. I am saying as alot of people dont realise that you can still be pregnant after taking it.

If you haven't come on in few days and your symptoms persist (they could all just be menstrual symptoms too) I'd do another test.

If you felt ill after taking it then that would indicate to me that it was in your system and working :) I've had it before and it made me feel very rough and also makes you have a 'period' which in turn can cock up your cycle for a while after too.
