Hi everyone,

I am getting scared as I am 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant for the first time and yesterday I started to notice very light peachy/pinky on toilet paper when wiping?! Could this be anything like late implantation/stretching bleeding or should I be more worried. Obviously being Sunday now I can't call the doctor until tomorrow and I know at this stage there will be nothing they can do anyway?! Will they do any scans or tests at 5 weeks to see what is happening. I am very certain on my dates and my period was due last Monday. Please help.

Many thanks. April. xxxx

This morning has progressed to more bleeding and clots and all my previous pregnancy symptoms have subsided so I guess this it it. :(

please dont give up hope huni, it may not be anything it is really common to bleed during pregnancy.

If it gets any worse then go down to a&e, or phone NHS direct who will be able to help, if it stops then book a doc appointment first thing

will be thinking of you hun

Try not to worry honey. I agree give NHS 24 a quick call to put your mind at rest.

Give epu or your gp a call in the morning. I don't know if they would be able to see anything on a scan at 5 weeks. I got a scan at 7 weeks. Maybe they could give you an internal one?????

Let us know how you get on......Thinking of you......Take care. xxx

I really hope its not, but call the hospital or your emergency doctor, put your feet up and rest - resting can really hwlp.If your not in pain or having severe cramps then it might not be x

There are now pains too and it is getting worse. I don't think I will do anything until the morning and then will make an appt with the doctor. I don't see what anyone can do at this early stage. :( I thought it was too good to be true! After a long wait for health reasons it was our first month of trying! :(

 Aw April  So sorry Sweetheart, But YOU really do need to go to A&E now your having pains too..... I know you are saying there's nothing that can be done, but thats not true.... YOU need a check up......and they will be able to advise you on the next step of action.... You CAN'T just do nothing Darling, you are too important. You will probably get an internal scan tomorrow, so go tonight and get attention, the hospital will do the rest.

You take good care of you Doll, I truly hope baby is fine and your one of the many woman who suffer a heavy bleed but go on to have a healthy baby,
What ever the reasons..you need to know  Lv and best wishes, Yvonne xx

I don't have really bad pains, just heavy cramps like period pain and a lot of heavy bleeding with some clots. I thought I only needed to do anything if the pain got very bad??

Do you think it is really necessary to go to hospital at this stage? There must be people who don't even realise they are miscarrying at this stage. This is only 6 days later than my period would have been due and I only know I am pregnant because I did pregnancy tests and got faint lines??

Many many thanks for you replies. :) It's good to hear from ppl when this is all new to us. :)

Hi

Really sorry you are having to experience this, I had a similar experience in May, look at my post

http://www.pregnancyforum.co.uk/forum/v ... highlight=

My bleed was also over a weekend and NHS Direct and my emergency GP said unless I was in severe pain, there isn't much that the hospital can do as a scan won't pick up anything at such an early stage. ( I was about 4.5 weeks). I was advised that unless I felt that I needed pain relief, I should stay at home and take it really easy.

If you are experiencing an early miscarriage, there is absolutely nothing you or anyone else can do. Some women do experience heavy bleeding and do go on to have normal and healthy babies, so don't lose all hope.

You'll probably find the GP will want you to take another preg test in a few days time.

Just try not to worry and if this is an early miscarriage, try to take comfort in the fact you can conceive. You'll get a huge amount of support from the girls on this forum, so keep us posted and take care...good luck.

Hi April
I was wondering how you are sweetheart?
I know you are not keen to go to A&E....and thats your choice but please promise you will go if your bleeding gets so heavy you feel tired, or sick.

I do understand that lots of people can suffer early MC.. and it's just like a really heavy period.... but i also know that some people can hemorrhage, (not common at all But does happen so be aware!)and thats why i would advise going to hospital for a check up anyway.

I am one of the unlucky ones who Hemorrhage, and i am lucky to be here today. . I needed a blood transfusion and an op.I left going to hospital almost too late....... I don't want to scare anyone, but i do feel it is important that you look after yourself, even if you think all is lost with the baby.

It's only a check up.... But if your bleeding eases off as the night goes on, then you'll be fine, just keep an eye on it... and take action IF you feel it's more than just a heavy period.... no floods of blood when going to toilet. OK?

Sorry i am a worry wart.. but i do care that people are ok... Take care, Lv Yvonne xx

Hi Yvonne,

Many thanks for your concerns. It is really nice to know that ppl care. :)

I am not too bad. I am still bleeding fairly heavily but mainly only when I sit on the loo and the cramps subsided after an hour or so just leaving normal lower abdomen heavy period sensations. I am used to heavy periods so I suppose I don't think much of the amount although there is quite a lot. I am going to call the doctor first thing in the morning and make an appt but hopefully by then it will have subsided and I will just get checked out.

I am so sorry to hear you have had such bad experiences, that must have been so scary for you. :(

I will post more tomorrow.

Thanks again. :)

 Thank you for the update April
I am glad your not bleeding too badly... if you know what i mean.. and that your keeping an eye on things....
Good luck with the doctor tomorrow too

Yes my experiences was rather horrific, but it has made me aware of what could happen.... and well, i was like many woman, i thought, this happens to people all the time all over the world, I'll be fine.... But when you don't realize how much blood loss is normal? and you keep thinking it'll stop soon... Well you can go into denial... But you seem to be more level headed than i was  and your asking advise and have your partner there too to keep an eye on you tonight... So i think you'll be fine.

I know you'll get help if you need it.

I don't know how you feel just now, or we can't for sure really say that baby has gone... But if you do find you are going to try again, Know that miscarriage happen in 1 in 4 pregnancies, But if you have lost before the odds on it happening to you again are reduced dramatically to 1 in 25..... So try to think of the positives here too Sweetheart..... And that you managed to Conceive so quickly... which means your very fertile!

A little info i hope you can take comfort in at this worrying time.

No matter what happens doll, please post and let us know, Lv and hugs Yvonne xx

Hi April,

How are you today? Thinking of you xx

Were you able to make an appointment? I would say get it checked out asap - I'm sure it's not this, but there's always the chance of an ectopic so it's always always best to go to A&E.

Let us know how you get on xxxx

Thanks for your kind messages everyone. :)

I feel a bit better and have been to the doctor this morning who has just said it definitely sounds like I've MC and just to keep an eye on it and wait for the bleeding to stop. She just told me it should be like a normal period as I was so early on except maybe slightly heavier/longer. She didn't actually seemed that bothered and said it is very normal to miscarry and about 2/3rd's do?! I think because I have practically no pain now and the bleeding is not so heavy that she thinks it will be fine. But don't worry, if I suspect anything I will be back down the doctors!!

I am very tired today and off work and the bleeding has slowed slightly but is still steady. I may go back to work tomorrow but not sure yet as I still feel exhausted and quite low. I've really felt like I need to talk to someone but I haven't as I don't want friends/family to know until I have good news!! I won't be telling anyone until I am 14 weeks I think!!!! Got to stay positive and think about next time and make sure it's a sticky one!! :)

I plan to do a pregnancy test when the bleeding stops to see if it's still showing but we have looked into it and discussed it and definitely decided to carry on trying straight away. :)

Fingers crossed for us all who don't yet have good news. :)

April xxxxxx
