Hello there....another newbie...

Well just thought I would introduce myself to the site. My friend told me all about the site as she said she spent many hours on here while she was pregnant. I have found it great up to now. I love reading all about everyones pregnancies and I just wanted to say sorry for all the people who have suffered losses I can't imagine how you must feel.
I am 28 weeks pregnant with my second child, my other daughter is 9 years old...i know big age gap....but having spoken to some friends who have similar age gaps hopefully it will work out well. I have recently split with my partner of 11 years due to circumstances way out of my control so things are a bit rough at the minute, but they say these things make us stronger people. I'm just taking one day at a time and hoping for the best and trying to remain calm for the pregnancy....sometimes easier said than done really.
My daughter Haylea is so excited about the pregnancy and won't let me do a thing...she's going to be like a right little mother hen, bless her she can't wait - which is really reassuring as I thought she might not like the idea especially after having myself and daddy to herself for 9 years, but she's so thrilled and I think she'll make a great big sister.

Good to hear from you Amy, no I don't know what I'm having. My daughter wanted us to find out but my ex partner and I wanted to have a surprise....I love surprises so can't wait. Everyone does keep telling me I'm having a boy although they said that when I was carrying my daughter so we'll just have to see....exciting though!!

Welcome to the forum & CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Sorry to hear you are having some probs, but as you said, it WILL make you stronger, sounds like you have loads of support from your loving daughter, what more could a Mum ask for?

We will have an 8yr gap between our daughter and our baby, and although we haven't told her yet, we have tested the water, and it seems she too would love to have a sibling!

Anyway hun, I really hope everything sorts itself out for you.

Thanks for the reasssuring words its nice to hear from people on here. My daughter is 9 and she can't wait for our new arrival. I have involved her as much as I can and she's always rubbing and kissing my belly - which is really sweet. I'm sure your daughter will love her little brother or sister. I have spoken to a friend who has a 10 year old and a 2 month old and she said its been the best thing to happen. She said while the bigger one is at school you get to spend time with the baby and then when the eldest comes in from school you get to spend time with them. Hopefully things will work out just as well us.
