Slightly silly question here

Im going to make as much home made food as i can and freeze it for Kayla

So starting off with just plain potatoes this week, got the little 1 oz pots so when i defrost them i need to fully heat them but there is just too little for a pot so all i can think of is the microwave?

So how long would it need or is there any other handy way im not thinking of to heat it trough?

Hey,
I would use the microwave chick. And just heat it right through and test it to make sure its hot and then let it cool a bit. I always preferred giving Lo sweet potatoe rather then potato when we first started weaning xxx

I've got a bebedelice to assist doing this :)

I have a babycook which steams, purees, defrosts and reheats, but you can just bung it in the microwave just be carefull that it is all heated through as microwaves cause hot spots!!
xxxx

I put mine in freezer bags then lay them flat in the freezer. I try and defrost them overnight in the fridge then put boiling water in LO's bowl and pop the bag in the water for 5 mins.

I either defrost in the fridge or mictowave. You need to make sure it heats through and then let it cool. I would advise using sweet potatoes instead of.normal potatoes, or both together.

I use the microwave for 30-40 seconds (my lo is now having quite a big portion of food tho) and then stir it really well.

thanks girls will try microwave,

didnt think i would need to defrost overnight i was thinking couple of ours would do it??????

oh i was looking at those all in one things defo gonna pick one up when i can afforded it

Oh and also few of you saying try sweet potatoe first

didn't know i was better to do that? what's the logic behind that? is it just the taste or is it easier to digest? Made the normal potato yesterday and froze it in all my little pots, should i bin them and start again with sweet potato?

Dont bin them, you can mix it with other veg. Potato is very high in starch content, sweet potato has lower GI ie better for you. Also potato by itself is dull lol. I make 2 potato mash and my lo loves it!

well i tried her with it today and she was not very impressed and gave me such a look of discust lol

Think il do carrot for few days see if it sits ok then just add the potato to the carrot after that so she doesn't have it on its own again
