Heart murmor

When Nathan had his 8 week check the doctor said he had a innocent heart murmor but said it was nothing to worry about and that its quite common so i didnt think too much of it.

Today I got a letter off the hospital saying Nathan needs to go in so they can check it, they have give me appointment ect.

Anyway they wouldnt do this if they wernt worried about it would they or is it routine to check them? Has any of your babies had this? If they have/did then what happened?

 

Damien hasn't had this, but they are probably doing it more out of precaution than anything. Good luck for him xxx

that's okie hun, when has he got to go in? My BIL had a heart mumrer when he was a kid but then it went away all by itself! Think they dissapear sometimes hun.

Have you looked on the internet hun for some information?

I found out yesterday i have a heart murmer....... Must be the time of year.
They have to check it isn't causing problems for him.

I think some just go over time and some stay but are totally harmless. My OH has arythmia (don't think I've spelt that right) but basically his heart does an irregular beat every so often. He has had tests every so often- for example when we got life insurance and when we went to a new doctor- and they say that it has no effect on anything but they always seem to like to check it out anyway, he has certainly never noticed it effect him in any way.

hi rachel, i have a heart murmer..its never affected me its just my heart sometimes has an irregular beat! its harmless in the majority of cases and will probably never affect Nathan..they just have to check it routinely just to make sure its a small murmer..dont be worried i'm sure he'll be fine

my GP found a heart murmur at Charlottes six week check, and we were sent to our specialised heart hospital for further tests.

she had a full ECG, heart scans etc and nothing was found at all.

Hopefully it will be the same for your Nathan.
