Headaches, abdominal pain, thirsty, Hard mass.... UPDATE

Hi all,

I went the docs today with severe headaches, thirst and cramp type pains. When feeling my tummy she came accross what she describes as a hard mass that shouldnt be there. She said possibly a cyst, possiblt fibroids, or could be a muscle mass - but she doest know. And she is exta worried because it is so very tender when she presses it.
We heard the baby heart beat - which was good. But she wanted to get me in for a scan asap - but the earliest the hospital can do is Monday. She has also took blood to test.

Is anyone else gettin bad tummy pains? They are worse at night whe I sleep, and suddenly feel like cramp.

Does it hurt to walk/move at all? Worse when you go upstairs or climb up into bed? It could be ligament strain (i.e like straining an ankle etc) because of the sudden stretching and weight your carrying - I'm suffering with this too but it's thankfully *touches wood* on the mend now. Hard lumps I've had and was told it's like knotted tissue as it all tries to re-settle etc. Was a hernia (sp?) mentioned to you at all? Basically where the strain turns into a little tear and becomes more tender/sore and sometimes prone to bleeding? It sounds really similar to what I've got and it's been diagnosed as a strained ligament with nothing much they can do about it rest as much as I can with feet up on the sofa/bed type thing. You can always see the GP through your pregnancy for a better diagnosis and from 20 weeks onwards you can self-refere to the maternity unit at the hospital for a good checking over. I've had the most horrible headaches for about 5 weeks now, they are going and less frequent and was told that was hormonally related (by the second MW I saw the first just brushed it off) The advice I got was that if it was bad to go when it was bad and not wait for it to die off so they could actually check me out when it was there as when it's not there they can't test/look/diagnose properly. aww piglet, im sorry you feel so ill at the moment, but i would have asked what nicola asked, maybe too much strain recently, dont worry im sure its harmless what ever the out come.. take it easy untill you go for your scan.. just think you get to see baby again wahoo...

I hope everything is ok, I am sure it is but obviously when we are all pregnant I guess they want to be extra careful which can sometimes make you panic!

If it was anything like a cyst of course it would hurt when pressed, try not to worry yourself too much, you don't want to make yourself more poorly

Sorry to hear about your aches and tender lump Piglet. I can't offer any ideas as to what it might be but I'm glad you are getting the scan to be on the safe side.

Thanks everyone, I'm just wondering if it is a cyst thats grown since my last scan 5 weeks ago - how on earth will they get rid of it? My OH felt the lump last night and I can feel where it is all the time with either a dull ache or pain. It's most odd - probably be nothing.....
I'll keep you informed on monday

Hey everyone,

Well I went for my scan t investigate the lump - and they couldnt see a lump! Baby is fine - it was hiccuping! Really cute to see.
But they can't explain the hard mass, tummy pains or headaches and it was a bit like "baby is fine so stop moaning" type attitude. They just said to go back to docs if no better soon.
But what on earth is this lump? And why does it hurt???

Oh well, I'm glad baby is ok. And I can't wait for my gender scan on Saturday!!!

How frustrating for you! Well, at least it's nothing scary and maybe was just one of those mysteries that you'll never get to the bottom of!

Good luck for your scan at the weekend - can you post tummy pics and symptoms so we can guess?!?! Were you tempted to ask the sonographer yesterday?
