Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say hi, and that I'm still around! I haven't been on here much recently as I've had so much to do, and everything is taking so much longer now!!! I've also been really really tired!!!

I'm very nearly 34 weeks now!!! Can't believe how fast it is going. I went on a tour of the hospital last Saturday (didn't have the girls there - they were both born at Southampton) and it all suddenly became very real indeed!!! The tour also included a basic 'what to expect in labour' class - must say, I was the only one there without my partner (he had to look after the girls)!! It was very nice although they don't have ensuite bathrooms like they did at Southampton when I had my 2nd - I really really appreciated that, was forever in the loo during labour!!!!

I'm hoping I may even get to go in the pool this time - mw said it would depend on which team was on but the fact I've had one natural birth was in my favour!

I did have a bit of a scare the night before last/yesterday. Got very uncomfortable and think I may have had some contractions in the night. I was fine in the morning but had some more pain after shopping!!! I did call mw and she said that it could just have been bruising where LO was very active but to call the labour ward if it happened again and lasted longer than an hour!!! Was fine last night and today so hopefully everything is ok. My Mum isn't flying over from Spain until 4 days before I'm due so I'm kind of worried about the arrangements for the girls and the poss that I may have to go through labour on my own now!!! Does anyone else have this worry or is it just me???

How is everyone? I am going to have to do a bit of reading now to catch up with everyone's news.

 Good to hear from you and glad you're doing well.

My mum and dad are going on holiday the week after my due date so I'm hoping LO arrives on time - although OH will be around so I won't be alone. Can you get a friend to look after the girls when you go into labour if your mum doesn't make it in time? Would be a shame for OH to miss out!

Hi Daisy Rose
Ive seen you about at night time poor you must be the only time you get time to yourself when the kids are asleep.

I will have James there but i want my Mam there to so im hoping for the weekend so my parents can get down.

Hi,

Glad all is going well and 34 weeks sounds really impressive. Hopefully the tightenings are just some practice for when the baby comes in 6 weeks. I'll keep my fingers crossed that baby holds on in there until your mother arrives.

Glad everything turned out fine :D I had a scare last week too. I had really bad period pains, but wasnt getting contractios or anything, and baby was active so wasnt too concerned. I saw MW yesterday and she told me off! So I've promised if anything happens like it again, I'll go straight to hospital.

I gave birth alone with DS2. We dont have any family here either so DH dropped me off at the hospital, then took DS1 home back to bed and went to bed himself whilst i gave birth  When he woke in the morning, it was all over!

To be honest, I was terrified at the thought of going it alone, but it was the most amazing experience. DH was there when I had DS1, (I had a waterbirth) but with DS2, I was SO much more relaxed because I wasnt worrying about what DH was doing, how he was feeling or anything. Even the MW said after how relaxed and chilled out the whole thing was. I wouldnt hesitate to go it alone again (although my Mum is coming to stay this time because im having a section and DONT want to do that alone).

Im panicking now as I have NOTHING prepared. My plan is to pack my birth bag today, but I just cant do it as I know it'll suddenly dawn on me the baby will be here in 5 weeks!

Hi Daisy, thanks for the update. good to hear things are progressing relatively smoothly :D . Ive been a bit crampy too at nights, but i think it is the way my one is lying and it doesnt like me lying on either side.

We have labour suite tour on 5th June. probably, like you, i will find it all hits home then. however, when i was in tesco and someone asked me how long i had left, and i said 9wks, it realy got me thinking then

Just wondering when time is going to start slowing down now. the weeks are still flying by far to quickly for my liking!! :rotfl:

Take care

Hi everyone,

Glad to hear you're all doing well. I've had a bad couple of days again!!! On Weds I saw the mw (it was all a bit of a rush as usual - had to do wee sample and Rosie's nappy in the loo before going in so was late!!!) and when she put me up on the bed and felt my tummy she said I was contracting, and needed to slow down otherwise I would be heading for an early birth!!!! I looked at my notes and it also said I was 4/5ths engaged which didn't happen right until the end last time. Felt really bad for the rest of the day - kept getting pains, and today they continued (was also getting them in my back and the pressing down was horrendous) so this afternoon I called the labour ward and ended up going in to be checked out.

Anyway, they had me on a monitor for a couple of hours (baby was very active and they were slightly concerned about the fast heart rate at times I think) but eventually she/he settled, I relaxed, and having seen no contractions on the monitor, they've let me come home. Baby has moved right up again right now but is putting loads of pressure on my ribs and I can't take deep breaths or eat much. The main thing is everything seems to be ok and they said I wasn't about to go into labour which is definitely what I wanted to hear!!!

Spoke to my Mum yesterday and she said she'd get over as soon as she could, should babe arrive early, but the other option is to send the girls to J's parents. I don't know if I'd mind too much being on my own but I would really like J to be there when LO is born if poss.

You're right Geordie Lass, this is the only time I get to myself!!!! Probably stay up too late but I just don't get any other time!!!

aawww

Sounds like we have been having similar. Sometimes I get contractions that are picked up by the monitor. Other times there is none.

My tummy has got to the point now where I feel that there is no way that I will go another 7 weeks. Not with having contractions on and off and a show.

But then, as i have said before....sods law will be I go another 9 weeks! :rotfl:

I hope things get more comfortable for you! We are doing very well coping with it all you know! When in pain I find it hard to feel excitied about the next few weeks. Only the bit when I hold my baby :)

We will have to keep in touch and compare and cotrast symptoms :)

Hiya

Fuffins, Yeah, I bet after all this, we'll be the only July'ers still hanging on two weeks later!!!

Am feeling a bit better today. I think the baby got very cross with the monitor and I even think it may have made it move up again a bit. When I tried eating last night though I had really bad cramps under my ribs (think it must have been trapped wind or something) and before I went to bed I couldn't even bend over for the pressure!!! It seems to have gone now though and everything seems to be ok at the moment. Hope you're feeling better today. Have you had anything since the show? I haven't had anything like that yet.

I'm off on holiday for a week tomorrow - not sure if I'll get on the net whilst I'm away to catch up with everyone but if anything else happens I'll let you know.

All the best,

 hi hun, nice to have you back. I hope your Lo hangs on a bit longer until your mum arrives.
