Hi ladies, I think my 2 year old has hand foot and mouth. I picked him from nursery on Friday and one of the girls mentioned it to me as he has a few very small spots on his foot and a coupl on his body. He's been very irritable, not eating and high temp for last 2 days.

Just wondered what I do next really, should I take him to docs or leave it pass? How long does it take to pass? And anything else I need to know? X

Hi Hun my little boy had this earlier in the year. It varies child to child as to how severe they get it. My son had it mostly on his heels and on his tongue so walking and eating was painful for him.
He was quite irritable as well but lots of calpol, yoghurts and cuddles and it passed within a few days.
I think the build up to it is worse!

Thanks so much! Makes a lot of sense now, all he's asking for is yoghurts!

He doesn't know what to do with himself bless him. His temp has gone down today so I'm hoping it's a mild dose.

Thanks again xx
