is it safe to eat while pregnant? because i have heard a lot of talk in books that some ice-cream can be harmful as may not be pasteurized milk and cream in it- is this true?

It MAY be true of some homemade stuff but pretty much all food you can buy commercially will be pasteurised.

I couldn't have got through pregnancy without the brands you mentioned! !

the prolem with icecream is the wippy stuff you get from vans or McFlurries, you know that comes out of the spout. Its cause it can carry bacteria from the nozzle and in some cases salmonella or listeria.
Normal tubs of icecream from the supermarket are fine
