I posted this on TTC section but I belong in this section so I hope you don't mind posting here too.

AF came 3 days late and although I thought we wouldn't fall pregnant this month I was still holding out hope. I had a 29 day cycle last month, it's been 38 days long this month, why is it so irregular? I've been having a lot of abdominal pain as well this month. Would evening primrose oil cause this much inconsistency in my cycle as I took it all month last month and stopped after OV this month. I've been at the same stress level between months as well so that's not different. I've been off BC over 18 months so surely it should be out of my system by now? We are now onto the 15th month of TTC.

Would any supplements help? I'm so sick of being infertile

Hi hun

I would have thought BC would have come out of your system by now but you never know... I blame it for PCOS!

I wouldn't have thought EPO should affect your cycle length really - it didn't change mine anyway.

Is there a possibility you could have something like PCOS? Do you get much CM naturally, or have anything else weird in your cycle eg spotting? Xx

Hi Pheonix. Weil I've definitely been more irregular since coming off BC. My GP did a hormone blood test which came back as normal in not sure if that would pick up PCOS? I don't get much CM naturally which is why we use concieve plus. Xx

Hiya, have you had any investigations at all yet?

Could be lots of things, it could just be one of those things, sometimes your body seems to throw a wild card your way and if it is only occasional then it is normal. If it is a regular occurrence I would say get some tests done and see if there is an issue that could be giving you problems.

There are supplements that may help you but only is you know the reason your body is behaving in this way. I wouldn't recommend taking anything other than a conception specific vitamin until you know what you are trying to treat as you could unknowingly make it worse.

I know you're not supposed to be trying hun but I would ask for a scan/tests. This is what happened to me with cycles being irregular and then I was diagnosed with PCOS. Do you have any of the other symptoms? X

Thanks so much for your replies I really appreciate them. if I don't get back into a regular cycle next month I think I will book an appointment to discuss my cycles I think, you're right Fairyprincess, it doesn't have to be TTC related if it's all over the place so my doctor won't get iffy with me.

I agree with the other ladies too and would definitely ask for a scan. Like FP says, you don't have to be ttc to have tests like that xx
