Apparently my boss had swine flu over Christmas, just found out. He was talking to me and giving me paperwork this morning. I thought how unfortunate he was to always seem to be having colds- he sounded bunged up sniffly. Now I'm pissed that he actually had swine flu!!!!

Anyone know what the carrying time is?

I'm not sure about the carrying time, but have you had your u jab?
XxX

Have you had the vaccine? I was always told there was a 3 day time period between catching flu and showing signs of it but don't hold me to that. Also unless he had a blood test to confirm it was swine flu then it might have just been manflu or a heavy cold so try not to worry.

Haven't had the flu jab and yes, it was swine flu not manflu lol!

Just irks me when people risk it. Hopefully he is past the contagious stage. Hubby will not be impressed if I or our baby become ill!

Oh It annoys me when people don't think of pregnant or young/old people around them when they have a nasty. He should have worked from home for a week or so and called you to tell you as swine flu or is not exactly a run of the mill one! you could ask him more by phone or email exactly when he got it call the local surgery and ask about getting the jab or more details about carry time

My boss and two colleagues had flu over Christmas, my boss coming into work, seeing as he's never had a day off sick ever. Just found out one colleague had swine flu. I'm still ok, and didn't catch it off hubby when he had it last year, so you don't always get it if you've been in contact with those who have it...

Normally it wouldn't bother me, it's the fact I have someone else to think about that makes me worry.

Can understand that shootingstar. As said though you might not catch it even if you have been in contact with someone who has. I would see how you are after 2-3 days and go to doc if you have any sort of symptom.

What i would say though is it's going to be very difficult to avoid people with colds/flus/viruses at this time of year so unless you want to worry every time it might be worthwhile thinking abut getting the flu jab.

I think my hubby had swine flu over Christmas because it lasted weeks it was so bad. But I got the jab ages ago so didn't get it.

I would really recommend you get it if you havent already done so. Saves you worrying and won't have a nasty flu to go through nevermind the risks x
