So my son just had a massive green (quite dark) poo in his nappy, which he's never had before. (he's 4.5 months and EBF atm). I'm suspecting a food intolerance but can only find info about dairy problems online. I've been vegan for 3 years so definitely no dairy/other animal products. I have recently reduced soy (mostly for my own cycle when it returns) but had been drinking and eating soy products since his birth and he's had no issues associated with my consumption of these. I haven't eaten anything abnormal over the last few days that I can think of but it could still be something I've forgotten about. Any suggestions other than soya, dairy, eggs etc (I. E. All the usual culprits)?

It is really hard to say... For my DD it was the start of formula intolerance. Is he in pain? If he is not in pain I would keep an eye on his poo and list all the foods that you eat. It may be a one-time thing. But if his poo is still green, make an appointment with health visitor x

Is his poo normal looking usually? If it is not happening regularly then I wouldn't worry about it. Green poo means it has gone through the digestive track too quickly. It can be caused by a bug or mild tummy upset. If it is persistente then it could be a food allergy. My 3 all reacted when I ate dairy. They had green or very mucousy poo and trouble gaining weight.
