Took me nearly 30mins to walk there! im shatterd and just got back!!

Well my midwife was unwell, but her stand in was lovely, Claire (my midwife) will be ringing me next week to come out and see me, but from what I can gather she sounds lovely too!

I told her my concerns, but she said they dont offer early scans until you are registerd with the hospital ( moved surgey ) and even then they do not scan you until 10-14 weeks as they only will before for women bleeding or very unsure on dates :( I feel abit gutted about it, but im going to talk to Claire when she sees me and ask her what she thinks, I can believe it as its a very popular hospital, so I guess it will be a case of just waiting :(

On the positive side, ive got my green book and bounty pack :cheer: and she said they are very pro homebirth :cheer: wahoo (tryed with Oli but didnt work out in the end) and have had 31 succesful homebirths already this year, which really made me feel happy! :D

I just keep telling myself that at the end of the day there isnt alot I can do to prevent a miscarriage, having a scan isnt going to change an outcome, but it would reassure me.

Hopefully Claire may say different :)

I have an appointment with her at 2.30, I am slightly nervous and excited at the same time, I hope shes nice and understands my concerns.

I hope I can get booked for an early scan

good luck sweetheart, i hope she is nice too. i am hoping to get an early scan too :cheer: hope you get yours.

 Thank you very much, and goodluck to you too Minxy hun :cheer:

I will update when I get back :D

Oh yeah I forgot to say, she said that its very unlikely I will go through the same thing again, which made me feel abit happier, I just hope Claire will get me in for a scan

so pleased all went well, it is a shame you can't have an early scan though.

Oh Tash, am glad you're feeling so positive :cheer:

Mine went fine, although I was surprised to learn my 12 week scan will take place at a community health centre; apparently they are trying to keep women out of the hospitals until at least the 20 week scan. That's different to last time.

She also told me about the new grant available to all of us popping after April 2009. It's non-means tested (so we all get it) and it's £190 to help with a healthy lifestyle for mum. Anyone know about that? :D

 Thanks everyone.

Minxy, never heard that before, sounds better having it there than in hospital.

Not heard about grant either, where can I find more info about this? :D

:cheer: Thats fantastic!

Will talk to midwife about it when I see her next!
