hi,
l'm 10 weeks pregnant.l'm doing this to see what other people think and to show my boyfriend lol.
most of us give our bumps a nickname don't we? whether it's baby, bump, twiglet, jelly bean etc.my botfriend calls my bump "runty" the reason for this is because he said if it takes after him it'll be a little runt !!
now it is me or would you take offence to your husband/partner/boyfriend calling your bump a RUNT!?

l have asked him to call the bump something else which isn't so insulting but so far he hasn't managed to do that.

l'd like as many feed backs possible whether you would take offence or not please as l'm hoping to show the feedbacks to my boyfriend.

thanks debi

I call mine Spawn :D Even now that we have a name for him, I still call him Spawn occasionally. My OH hates it though

I reckon it is just your OH bonding with the baby :D I wouldn't take offence personally as Runty is kinda cute :)

i dont think its too bad but if i was having a particulary bad day and OH was annoying me i think i'd go mental at him about it because im using any excuse possible to have a go at him at the moment lol.
Hey at least im strong enough to admit it :rotfl:

So would depend what mood im in as to how id react to it.

I think that the fact your OH has come up with a nickname for your bump is a good thing in itself!!!

I wouldnt take offence at runty, think its quite cute!!

Yeah that sounds positive to me hun, I called Elliott "sprog" through my pregnancy and my OH hated it but to be honest he was in denial until he had him in his hands. Bonding early on= very good thing!

p.s. beware the pregnancy voices telling you to have a go at your OH- they're whispering to me too so I know and understand! I remember getting to the end of my pregnancy with Elliott and remarked that we hadn't had a row for months and my OH said "That's because I'm treating you as temporarily insane, like you've have 9 months of PMT!" Lol- thankfully he said this at a point where I didn't want to cause him bodily harm!

my husband called our first baby snotty (similar to runt i think!) the worst part was he called her that until she was about a year old lol.
Still at least he took an interest in names!
