going swimming?

we have decided to take Ava for her first swim next week, now this might sound a bit silly but when you took your LO's swimming for the first time did you use one of those inflatable rings or just hold baby?

I just hold Finlay but then I personally don't like the rings as they are in an odd position in the water IMO - same with arm bands but then I am a swimming teacher

Much easier with an inflatable ring with the little seat thing in. So sweet to pull it round the pool and they can kick their legs etc!!! We took Emms when she was 4 months though so not sure how easy it would be in a ring for a 2 month old.

Im taking Callum for the first time too soon!

But i would never use one of those ring things, due to personal experiance
I nearly drowned when i was on holiday as a baby in one of them.
My mum just froze and my dad had to jump in to save me.

That story scares me and it was me

i usually hold charlie but take a baby sat with me incase my arms get tired, i still hold hm when he's in it as it doesnt seem very safe not to it just helps take the weight a bit!
