Nearly all my 12 week scan guesses were boy, I had an early gender scan and she said she thinks girl. I couldn't work out anything on the screen or by the pictures. Do you think she could be wrong? X

How many weeks was the gender scan?

I can't tell anything from that pic but guessed boy on your other thread.

I don't know what the chances are of a tech being wrong, but in most cases boys are mistaken for girls so you could still be getting a boy.

I wouldnt take guesses from 12 weeks as gospel, especially if they were not from a professional. One of my friends said a girl, then literally the next day changed to a boy for me from my '12w' scan at 14 weeks and I just smiled and carried on. People base guesses from their own pregnancies but it doesn't mean it's necessarily the same for everyone else. I don't believe in all the old wives tales to determine gender either xx

I was 15+5 but I couldn't see anything on the screen girl or boy so will double check at 20 week scan x

Their genitals do not develop until week 15 this cannot be predicted at your stage x

How sure was the lady doing the scan that it's a girl? I would say a gender scan at 15+5 would be fairly reliable x

She seemed pretty sure I think. I will just check again at 20 weeks x

I think you can using the nub theory ladybug but not sure one was visible on roxy's scan x

Nearly everybody guessed boy. Only 3 more weeks till my 20 week scan x

Everyone's pretty much guessed boy for me too & I'm thinking I'll have another girl. I guess sometimes nub theory works & sometimes not. X

15 weeks is pretty early. Most places say wait until 16-17 weeks. Even then its only like 90% chance of being right. I wouldn't buy anything till your 20 weeks scan heh :p xx

If we decide to find out gender (not sure yet) then we will have a private scan at 17-18 weeks. The place I'm looking at to book says from 16 weeks, but i think a bit later may mean a better chance of them being able to see the gender and then I'll have my NHS scan and hope their opinions match up!
