I've just brought a pre-loved toy from facebay but it smells really bad of smoke, I didn't know until I got home and took it out of the bag. It's a plastic toy so will scrub but wondered what you would scrub it with to not take the colour out but get rid of the smell?

Soak it in a bowl of Milton for a few hours?

Febreeze/Flash surface cleaner and then a good soak and rinse

Soooooo annoying that they would send a childs toy smelling of smoke! Have had that myself when buying from Ebay
As others have said Milton seems to work well, good luck.

Agreed, just soak in Milton. I brought some preloved nappies and they stank of smoke :(

Did they advertise it as being in a smoke free home? If they did you need to complain cos that's disgusting

Didn't mention a smoke free home. Its got a sounds part so can't soak it but I think I'll try wiping with Milton. I left it on the window sill (too rainy outside!) and it is fading so maybe once it's cleaned the smell will be gone. It's a shame cos it means the children must be playing in a smokey room, guess not everyone is bothered, my oh always goes outside even before we had Kynon.
