Hi ladies,

I called today for my results and was told they were normal. I asked for a print out and read the results. They are not normal.
My FSH is 16.3 in the reference range it says it should be between 3.5-12.5. Is this terribly high? what does it actually mean? xx

Thanks Dee, that explains it really well. I hope there is still hope for us to do it naturally with my numbers xx

Also, I had the bloods done on CD4. I have read they should be done on 2 or 3. Could this impact the results much? xx

I'm not sure, perhaps? It might be worth repeating them on day 2 or 3 along with your oestrodiol, and have you has your amh done? Xx

I had the oestriodal done this time and was normal but if I repeat I will of course have those done too. I doubt it would make a massive difference to results being done day 4, would probably still be on the high side. I haven't done AMH, I didn't think they did that on the NHS? What is that testing for? xx

Hi lisey it doesnt put faith in doctors does it?
What do ur results mean now xx

Amh is your egg reserve. I needed it as we're pursuing IVF and they base your drug protocol around it. I had it done on the nhs, I asked the consultant at the fertility clinic who did my lap and he was happy to authorise it, your gp might if you say you are looking at private treatment... X

No, they are rubbish. If I had believed them, I could have lost my chance of having a baby if I just carried on trying without knowing for years.
I'm not sure to be honest, they might say I can still try naturally or it might be a case of going for IVF xx

Oh ok, well I am speaking to my GP on Thursday and if anyone would agree it then she would. I think I will be terrified to know the results xx

Better to know chick, at least you know where to go from there and of there is a potential difficulty id rethink going to the lister for a consult xx

I know its best to know, its just scary isn't it. This is the thing I want most in the world and more and more things are getting in the way. We have already booked to see a consultant at the hospital we had our NHS fertility at. It has a very good reputation and they will have all my previous tests and scans on record already. Its amazing the different care you get when your private. Got to choose the consultant and get seen within 2 weeks xx

It is scary, it seemed every test we had done the news got worse every time but it also meant we knew what to do to try and make it happen for us. It is shite though :-(

Its true, knowledge is power as they say and we are in a better place to make it happen but its so emotionally draining. I wish it could just be easy xx
