What the hell can i do, shes already tipped 3 spoons full down herself and threw up the one i got into her mouth, straight after shes taken it, what the bloody hell can i do, im so frustrated and angry what am i supposed to do, i know i shoudlnt but ive just shouted at her for spilling it and i feel so bad but in dont know what to do shes wasted half a days worht of medicine :wall:

Get a syringe - all chemists will have them, it's not nice but you basically squirt it into their mouths, down their throats before they can spit it out. We had to do this a few times with Lucy when she was younger.

Yup a syringe or even a dropper will work so long as you know how much it holds.

we had to use a syringe hun and took 2 of us to hold him down to even get the medicine in to him via syringe..its not nice but they have to have it :(

they never want to take when they are ill do they but they want it when they are ok and see sibblings having it :x
Add it to yoghurt or something.

Get a syringe, you can get the amount exact then too!

I guess my poor LO is used to it, coz he opens his mouth for his Ranitidine and Domperidone, I squirt it in and he swallows before he even knows whats happend.

Try a syringe, it will make a difference hun

i used the syringe, she was ok, didnt like it but didnt throw up, shes gone to bed anyway, hope she will be ok

Glad you managed to get her to take the medicine hope it works for her

Hope the cutie is ok this morning bless her
Glad the syringe worked hun, how long she on the meds for?

So pleased it worked for you!! :)

Even if it just takes some stress away from the medicating process it can be nice!!!

I have looked at those medication dummys, I think they would be good with like calpol, that dont taste to bad, but ranitidine is HORRID stuff, and my LO would not suck it, I have to shoot it down this throat before he knows whats happend!! Poor thing! lol

My Lucy was the same - she's been on Trimethoprim since she was 8 months old and it's foul stuff. Saying that, she's been on it so long now she calls it "yummy strawberry" lol!!

So glad you managed to get your LO to have the medicine, she can start to feel better now!

Thing is with hope shes never ever takena dummy , i dont think shed even take it if it taste like chocolate :rotfl:

Awww.... glad she managed to take some meds.

My Mum used to mix ours in with a little juice if we wouldnt take them :)

like budge says luke will always willingly take medicine when he is well!! but when he is really poorly its can be a nightmare.

i let him hold the syringe and suck it and push a little in a time, it works a treat as i let him play with it for a while after too, supervised off course. its like he has control of it this way.

well i put it in her juice, she drunk it all, only after putting it in a small coke bottle though
