Keeley has been 38.4 all day.. but this is the first whole day of her having her anti-botanics(sp)

I've just taken her temp while she's asleep and its now 35.5. i've put a blanket on her

Should i be worried that its dropped?

i dont kno if u SHOULD be, but i definately WOULD be. im a bit of a worrier tho
i think u should call the doctor, even if its just 2 put ur mind at rest.

hope shes ok

It is a while since I have had this with my LO - if you are in any doubt call NHS direct they are great in situations like this hun.

Hi Nic how are you taking Keeley's temperature? On the NHS website it says that if you are using a digital thermometer under the arm then you should add 0.5 to it to get an accurate reading which would make Keeley's temperature about 36. It says that a normal temperature is in between 36-36.8 which means that Keeley's is probably ok if you are using this method. I would personally wait for a bit and see if her temperature goes up now you have covered her over but if it drops then give NHS Direct a call for some advice. That is providing she seems ok other than her temperature because if not and you are worried then you should probably call them now.

I use a digtal thermometer.. a bit after i posted the message it went up to 37.1

But this morning its back upto 38.4 :wall:
i can't win :?

Might not make any diference to you with your thermometer but do you always take the temperature in the same ear? I find with Isaac's digital thermometer that one ear is acurate and the other ear is up and down and all over the place.

She has an ear infection so the doctor told me only to take her temp in her left ear :)

oh right I didnt realise. Could be the reason for the temperature going up and down but if you can't use the other ear you'll just have to trust it. I ended up getting Isaac one of the forehead strips aswell as the digital because I found it so unreliable.
