Freezing Meat Question

I split a packet of mince beef 2 weeks ago and put the other half in the freezer . I would like to make Jess some shepherds pie for tea but don't know if i can give it to her. Do you think i can?
Also does anyone know how long it is to keep pre cooked meals in the freezer for eg. Fish Pie, spag bol sauce etc?
