I have just returned 2 days ago from a wonderful romantic tour of Belgium. I got an Engagement ring for my birthday  However I also got food poison on my birthday. ill the next day along with the other people we travelled with. I have been running to the toilet and had tummy spasms  It's not been nice. My doctor say's the baby will be fine. But will not refer me to the early pregnancy unit for a check up. :wall: I have other concerns too ( Very Deep Wreck Scuba Diving before i knew i was pregnant) but still they will not give me a scan until I am 14 weeks ! ! Is there anything I can do? anyone else having GP dismissal problems?

just wanted to say congratulations on your engagement! :cheer:

Congratulations on your engagement! :D

Sounds like my GP. He just cocked his nose up at me when i went in last week and said "well this early 1 in so many women miscarry, and there is nothing you can do about it" In the end he told me to leave my details for the midwife.

I keep calling to get an appointment, but they just tell me that she will call me.

It is still early days but when you have had problems before you expect them to at least be there if you have any questions and to make sure things arent going wrong this time round.

They make me very angry.

Try not to worry hun, I know its easy to be concerned, but unless your having cramping pain or bleeding you little bean is fine. I know its scarey if you have had food poisening, like when people worry that they have been out and got really drunk before realising they are PG, but it takes more than that to harm your little one.

If you do experience cramping pain or bleeding do however get back to your doctor, but otherwise just relax and you will be fine.

I had really bad food poisoning at the start with my DD and this one and everything was fine.
Can you phone the EPU at your local hospital, perhaps they will be more understanding, I appreciate it is hard not to worry
