I know how random this is lol but..................................

How on earth do you cook them without them falling to bits. If i cook them in the oven they stick to the tray and if i do them under the grill they drop to pieces when i turn them over :x

i find this as well, so frustrating isnt it.. :wall:

if any one got any idea;s do let us know!

They do exactly the same for me too, I wish I could get the coating nice and crispy like my Mum used to!

I'll give frying them a go :D

If you cook them in the oven make sure the oven is very hot and the tray isn't greasy.
if you fry them make sure the oil is very hot too.

Buy the battered ones!

SO much worse for you but YUM!!

Thanks I'll try that (dont eat fried food tho)

Sticking with the fish finger theme...

How come when i make OH fish fingers and chips with bread and butter its ok for him to put the fishfingers on the bread, making a sandwich but when i make a fish finger sandwich for my tea he thinks Im wierd?? :wall:

I have solved this problem, well oddly it was my DH that I learnt this off.

Put a sheet of tin foil over the grill pan then grill them on the foil. So long as you are careful they no loger fall apart when you turn them over. Try it it works!

Have you tried fish finger sandwiches with cheese and salad cream mmmmmmmmmm

does vinegar have an expiry date...

cant seem to find it on the bottle anywhere

The vinegar I bought a couple of weeks ago has February 09 on the lid so yes but it lasts for aaagges!

Mine don't break up

I'm feeling left out and not part of the "gang" :rotfl:

I always do them in the oven on a baking sheet :cheer:

I cook them on a large piece of foil paper, in the oven. No tray. I've noticed that with the foil it doesn't stick at all, it comes off on its own!
I think I'll have a fish finger roll when i get home, with a bit of salad and tomato in it. :D

fish fingers and red sauce - i could live on it :rotfl:

Mmmmm me too! :rotfl:

I've tried doing them in the grill on a piece of foil but they still dont crisp up, they just go all soft :?

We had them last night and I put them in the oven on a foil covered baking try for about 25 minutes although the box said 15 but they were soft still so left them for another 10 minutes and they were lovely and crispy and didn't fall apart. Also I didn't turn them for the first 15 minutes (actually I forgot ) but when I did turn them they didn't fall apart.

I put them in a baking tray.. but i put aluminum foil under neath and spray it with that one calorie spray u can get.. they slide right off...... well not all the time.. but are so easy to get off with a spatula
