First timer, 25, excited but scared!

Hi folks, been lurking around the last few days since getting a positive test (or 4!) last Friday. Finally plucked up courage to believe it enough to sign up here and join you all in your excitement! Looks like such a great place for support and sharing experiences.

Still hasn't sunk in I don't think, only my partner and I know as yet, got a doctors appointment this friday, not sure what to expect. Last period was 3rd Jan go guess I could be a month or so gone already, will they be able to do a test to give a rough due date or will I have to wait for a scan for that?

So excited but so scared every time I go to the loo expecting aunty flo to have arrived!

I think they work it out from first day of your last period so that would make you approx 9 weeks? i *think*

Yeah about 8/9 weeks I would guess! Women ovulate at different times so the only way to know for sure is at your dating scan (which shouldn't be too far away!)

Thanks for all your kind messages, this forum is an amazing place! We went along to the doctor on Friday, she didn't do much except check my blood pressure and check and chart and tell us we're about 10 weeks along already! Crazy, still feel like normal old me (hope this continues!) just a little spottier and hating the sight of chocolate! She's booked me in to see the midwife on the 25th - think we'll wait til then before telling folk, might feel real then!
