First Pregnancy

Hi all,

So glad to have found this forum, this is my first pregnancy and i have loads of questions. I'm currently about 9 weeks - I can't wait until my first scan, it all feels a bit unreal at the moment! I've been to my GP who was very unhelpful was in and out within 2 minutes! Just waiting to hear from the midwife who i'm sure will be better. Does anyone know when i should expect to hear from her? Went to GP over a week ago?!?!

i think it depends on your area when you will hear as i had my 12 week scan and my booking in on the same day

Yes doctors don't tend to do much these days other than tell you congratulations and give you a referral to the midwives (I was told to pick up a pack on the way out and ring the midwife for my area!!)

I saw my midwife quite early on but I think that was just how she likes to work. There's not much they do to start with anyway so don't worry if it's a few weeks etc.
