Hello all,

By date calculations I am 7 weeks 4 days pregnant.

The pregnancy was unplanned and initially we were undecided on the future.

I have only just registered (online) with the midwife and awaiting a call back to get the ball rolling.

I have been doing all the right things since day one, along with taking supplements.

I have newly registered with a local GP and last Monday with my nurse appointment, I was told i had a water infection and antibiotics were prescribed.

I have had awful morning/day/night sickness this week, constant gagging from coughing and teeth brushing and the occasional vomit all day long.

A few weeks back I had some brown discharge which was only present on wiping.

Today I noticed some pink tinged discharge with the odd tiny spot of congealed blood.

Is this normal or should I contact my GP?

I have the occasional twinge here and there but no sharp stabbing pains, its as if I have an empty bruised feeling (from gagging maybe?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some bleeding in early pregnancy is normal but if your worried then you should contact your doctor for a referal to the early pregnancy unit.

It sounds like you have the delightful morning sickness or should I call it all day sickness. I feel for you, I am exactly the same I don't do pregnancy well at all.

Congratulations on your baby and I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months xx

Hi.

In pregnancy the cervix fills with blood and occasionally some can dislodge (like during/after sex).

If there's only a little it's usually nothing to worry about, if it continues or gets heavier or is accompanied by pain/cramping then you should phone your midwife or EPU.

Hope everything is well :)
