I KNOW it's WAY too soon to be getting worked up - but i can't help it!

This is the first time my period has not started bang on time. I don't think I'm pregnant yet, but I would like some advice from anyone who can give it because I can feel myself getting my hopes up for nothing.

I stopped taking the pill last month, I was on it for about 5 - 6 months. Before that I was on the depo contrecptive jab for 9 years (took the pill as a step down from the jab knowing we're planning a family).

It is normal for me to have my first period late isn't it? Given that this is the first time in almost 10 years that I have not been filling my body with anti-baby-making chemicals...

I'd love to be pregnant straight away, but despite my hopes, I can't see it happening.

What do you all think?

it could be your body adjusting hun
My periods have been all over the place since coming off the pill.
I know its hard not to get excited. I hope it a BFP for you hun

Yeah, that's what I thought *sigh*

Always have been impatient! LOL!

Putting the sickness, dizziness, sleepiness and sore boobs down to the same thing. Not had much of each, but blown it all up in my head. Doh...

Told you I was giddy!

Its normal to get excited hun  I was the same when i started TTC

My cycles are about 5 days longer than when I was on the pill. However if you have been shagging without a condom then guess what - you might be making a baby as we speak :D

Good luck!!

I was on the pill, then depo, then pill again, all in 8yrs and didn’t take a break. My family doctor went made, saying you should have taken a break after 4 or so years, at my age. So when I finally came off the pill, it took my periods almost a year to adjust to normal.

Saying this, I was on the pill and my fella was using a condom, I still got pregnant!

im in sort of the same situation, ive been on the pill for 6 years, and came off it just recently...its about 6 weeks since i had a period, apprently some symptoms such as headaches, bloating etc, are due to coming off the pill.....but you never know, some people have got pregnant in the first month...so good luck hun  xxxx

One of my friends did actually. She's been on the coil for years, then got rid of that, onto the pill, off the pill, and bingo. First month she got pregnant.

I don't think we'll be that lucky... but I'm hoping!

I'm up and down with nerves at the moment. Dreading every trip to the loo incase of AF. Still nothing yet though. Guess I wont be happy until I know one way or the other.

That said... I'm sat here looking at this last half pack of baccy, knowing I'll have to quit smoking. I'm setting myself this deal: I quit either when I get a BFP or on the 1st July (when the new laws come in, good insentive). Which ever comes first. I have cut down from 25g a day to 25g a week. My OH quit almost a year ago (smug git).

SO MUCH PREP WORK FOR THIS PREGNANCY LARK!

good luck hun  Its easier to quit when you have something to quit for.

Well.... I'm off to bed soon and there's still no sign of AF. Not so wound up now though. I feel asured that I am just settling into not being on the pill.

Thanks for all your messages!

I guess as you don't know what your cycle lengths are you could be pregnant, symptoms too unless they are pre af symptoms.

I suggest u take a test but don't be dissappointed if its a BFN, it could still be your body adjusting but youcould still get pregnant in your 1st month of trying, it might just be a longer month than the nrm.

I'd also suggest charting your temp, that way you'd know when you ovulate and would know more what sort of cycles you are looking a.

The fellers had the computers yesterday (stag night planning) so didn't get on.

Still no proper AF... Have some colour to the tissue when I go to the loo, but no actual bleeding.

Confused!

Off to work in a mo, will be on again this afternoon.

Oh well. Some heavier spotting now. Guess it's nothing after all. Never mind... Try again this month :?
