went to physio about my SPD today again, its got a lot worse since last week, im now on crutches, and she said ive gotta ring midwife and tell her the situation so they can assess whats best for me to deliver the baby, seeing as i can hardly open my legs now looks like a normal delivery is fading fast :( im absolutely petrified at the thought of having a c section  :( :(

Aw hun

All you can do is the best for you and bubs, if that means a c-section go for it, i know it's a scary thought having surgery, but you;ve got to think about yourself too hun and what's for the best

Hope things start looking up for you

I agree with Vicki hun.

Its a scary thought whatever way you have to deliver  but remember you gotta go with the advice that is given to you as this is the best thing for you and your baby.

From what I have heard, yes a C Section is major surgery but if you are very careful afterwards and take it easy you should recover in no time

My SiL and a friend of mine had c-sections, and as Jaidybaby says it is major surgery, BUT it's also very quick. You wont be putting any extra pressure on yourself, and you will get to see baby so much quicker than in normal labour. I can totally understand you being concerned, but once you have the pain-killers you won't feel a thing. Of course you will have to look after yourself afterwards, but then so does any new mum. I've also read that the recommended time to allow before giving birth again is 18 months, the same as if you had given birth vaginally.

C-sections these days are so much improved, they really know what they are doing, and the scarring is much, much less than what it used to be. My SiL had to be careful for about 6 weeks after hers, but she was quite pleased as it meant she couldn't do the hoovering lol. So there may even be added benefits! Good luck

well its my 3rd and final baby anyway so not a problem about having any more afterwards, just rang mw this morning, she's on holiday for a week so spoke to one of her colleagues and she said, " your only 32 weeks theyre not likely to do anything for a while so dont worry about it and ring back after xmas" :wall:

back at physio next week though so will see how it goes

the funny thing is im gonna be having a breast reduction once LO arrives, and the thought of that doesnt even bother me, yet a c section really petrifies me, strange huh

update- been researching about SPD and apparently doctors and midwives are very keen to dismiss it as one of them pregnancy things, and c section isnt actually the best method of delivery, tbh though my midwife is more than blunt at the best of times so she will probably just tell me to get on with it  just annoying that i dont know what will happen and theyre more than happy to let you suffer to 40wks and give birth normally. Id rather have a natural delivery if i can though but the position is something that needs to be considered, they recommend all fours to minimize pressure on the symphysis pubis, which sounds ok to me, just hope i can still have my water birth!!!!

Every time I have gone to the hospital I have been told that this is part of pregnancy get on with it... I got a referal for physio last week and it is for my due date! So I have been very much dismissed....

If you are in pain though and can't open your legs then they are going to have to do something about it! I have been doing yoga stretches and have found they are very good at keeping you supple.. although I get pain I can open my legs.. I have to or I wouldn't be able to wipe!! **tmi**

he who shouts the loudest gets the best care imo.... so keep shouting!

PS I have heard about the birthing on all 4's too and this is the position I want to be in if I have a water birth too!..... fingers crossed!
