Hi guys

I am feeling really awful today. I have only had nausea for 1 week (since 5 weeks) but it is all day. I have the seabands on as we speak and taking pregnacare.

The thing is, I feel like I have a urine inf...it stings when I pee and I feel like I have a temperature. I slept all day and all night yesterday and I am off work today.

Now I am off work but I feel ok, still feel nauseous but one of the other reasons I am off is that this time in my last pregnancy I started to bleed and within in a week I had lost my little bean. I am feeling fragile at the moment.

I feel overwhelmed by all the changes in my body and the constant nausea and anxiety, I just want to stay off work all week but I am scared in case I need time off later in the first tri or later in my pregnancy. How much worse does nausea get, does it peak in week 6/7 or later on or is it just the same.....

any advice or comforting words would be so appreciated...the guilt for being off is terrible....

hope you guys are having an ok day today

xx

I don't think you should feel guilt for having taken time off when you really are unwell, hell there's enough folk do that just for a duvet day!!

I reckon if you're straight with employers mostly they don't mind life having a few ups and downs as long as they know where they stand.

I haven't had MS so I'm not much help there but if you think you have a urinary infection then I think you need to get it checked out.

Look after yourself....

Thanks Floppit

I've stopped crying now

i have a docs app at 3.15 and will chat to her, I have a very demanding job - i work one-one with students in college and i commute 1 1/2 hours x2 a day so 3 hours travelling, it all just got on top of me and I couldn't face feeling sick and worrying about being sick in front of people.

im exhausted as im sure all 1st tri girls are but i feel like im being soft and should just get on with it, however, with what happened at 7 weeks last time the need to take it easy is there

thansk for responding x

Cranberry Juice is good for water infections.

Have a duvet day and hopefully you will feel better tomorrow x

OUCH!! That sounds exhausting!!

I'm glad you're seeing your doc today - I don't think you're being a wuss to look after yourself. Maybe the docs will sign you off for a week? I kind of hope so and I'm sure the world will go on without you at work (I know what it's like to feel like I CAN'T miss work, but the world really does go on...).

Hello

yes i can take a week off without a note and then i can get a note for a week after that if i am still ill....
i dont want people to think i am syving....and some will...

im just going to take it easy for next couple of days and hopefully il manage the nausea better at work.
thanks

Sorry to hear you're feeing a bit Pete Tong...

The doc will most likely give you tablets you'll be ok :)

x

 The morning sickness will go in time but you're right to go to the Dr with the possible water infection. You need to rest to get over that- believe me, I've had a lot of them and I've also had a kidney infection because I didn't rest enough when ill and got the wrong antibiotics off the Dr. Make sure they send off a sample of urine to test for which antibiotic is best for you as they treat you with a general one until the results come back. Drink as much water as you can, cranberry juice is good because it flushes the nasty bacteria through but just plain water is fine (I usually put some hot water in so that I can drink enough of it without it being too cold in my tummy). If you've got pain then you can take paracetamol for that (obviously check with your Dr but that's supposed to be fine while pregnant). Other than that put your feet up or go to bed and look after yourself. Don't feel guilty about your work- you are more important than that!
Hope you feel better soon

You need to take care of you and the baby. Don't let anyone elses opinion of it let you down! YOU are important, as is your little growing bean. I hope you feel better soon.

Hiya Honey,
Sad to hear you're not feeling too good. Hope the antibiotics help you. Try and relax and enjoy your time off, don't feel guilty, you need the time off!! Hope you're feeling better soon

thanks guys and thanks happy bunny

I have just read docs note and she has put kidney inf as there was blood in my pee so im a bit freaked as realise this can cause m/c.

how are you coping at work, my mum will be back soon and will have lots of hugs and sympathy for you...and maybe some ginger biscuits :)

yes, i will get some chick flicks on the go but no choc for me....it comes right back up...yummy jacobs crackers...not

Don't panic, just take it really easy, keep drinking LOTS and if the antibiotics you've been given don't start making you feel better within 48 hours then go back. Lots of women get water infections during pregnancy- I think your chance of getting them increases for some reason

Hiya hun,

Firstly DONT feel guilty for taking time off work, if you feel ill and feel the need to rest then trust your instinct and do so. Work will cope without you so you shouldnt feel bad

As far as sickness it can come and go at anytime and really differs from woman to woman. Normally is eases off around 10-12 weeks for most women sometimes a little later and some get it all the way through. I really sympathise as mines been bad all the way through and it lasts all day and its really draining :( hope yours goes very soon honey.

Dont worry about the water infection hun, they are very common in pregnancy and as long as its treated then you & little bean will be fine! Whens your next scan hun?

Take care, get lots of rest and have lots of naps ;) us pregnant women need them hehe  xxx

Naps! I don't know what I'd do if Mel didn't nap for 2 hours at lunchtime as by 1pm I just drop straight off to sleep like he does! Still manage to sleep 8 hours at night too. When I was at work when carrying Mel I used to sleep as soon as I got in for an hour and then get up and cook dinner! You just have to sleep if you can. This gets better as you get to the 2nd Tri too, don't worry.
